With this good weather I thought it was time to give the car a full detail.
Last week it was the turn of the arches and and alloys, I pressure hosed the arches and treated them to Vinyl and Rubber care, while the wheels were off I cleaned the alloys with Megs Hot Rims and Waxed them with Megs NXT. Wheels only needed a wash with water and a brush today so the wax worked a treat.
I was good weather for detailing but poor for pics as the sun was in all day.
So once the wheels were cleaned I gave the car a prewash/soak with my Super Spray and left for 5 mins.
Once the car was soaked all I needed to do was hose it down and all the visible dirt was gone, I then gave the car a good clean using the 2 bucket method and then dried with a Megs Water Magnet.
This is where I usually pack up and go in, but not today, the hard work had not even started.
Out came the clay.
For anyone who has not used it before please, please go and buy some. Rubbing my hand over the car all I could feel were bumps and a general poor finish. With plenty of lube and light to medium pressure I proceeded to clay the hole car, roof first, then bonnet, windows and then the sides of the car.
If you think your car is clean you'd be wrong, this is what I got off half the roof, the clay should be white by the way.
With the car clayed and dried it was time for the Megs Crystal stage 1 paint cleaner to come out. What a job that is, my arm felt like jelly afterwards but the finish was excellent, it lifted all the etched in stains and any tar spots that were on the paint.
Megs Crystal stage 2 polish was next which is what gives it that wetter look, a bit easier to apply and remove than stage 1 so within no time that stage was finished.
Onto the wax. In the past Ive tried Megs stage 3 Carnauba and Megs NXT but after speaking to Bryan about getting a better finish on silver I used Megs #16 which is a paste wax not a liquid. As Ive never used a paste before I wasn't sure how to apply it properly but after looking through the Megs forum and Detailing World I felt I was armed with he know how and set to it. Wow, easy! Goes on brilliantly and after a short time left to haze at came off so much better and easier than any wax Ive used before. Top stuff, top recommendation Bryan! Sorry no pic of he finish but there was no sun at the time and the pic just looked dull.
Finished the car of by cleaning the windows with Megs NXT Glass Cleaner, touched the black plastics around the windows with AG's vinyl and Rubber Care and dressed the tyres in Megs Endurance Gel.
The car looks stunning and I have no pics that will do it justice
These are the products I used.
And some pics I took afterwards.
And a couple out in the sticks.
The application of all these product was all done by hand and the finish is stunning, all I can say is I need a PC cos I can't wait to see the finish after a session with a PC.
