    Default Steering rack help needed

    Hi all
    Just got a vectra and today while parking the fluid leaked out.
    It had a new rack fitted 18000 miles ago, any ideas what could be wrong

    could be seals, pipes, or the like.. it needs a proper look at, if you think you may not be able then get it into a garage ASAP..

    where does the fluid seem to leak from under the car?

    Are you sure it was brake fluid and not condensation from the aircon?If it was water,and you have had your air con on that is not a problem as all cars fitted with air con do this.

    Has the power steering fluid leval gone down......... bit of a pig to check for though. that would eliminate the "water" on the ground...as to steering fluid.

    just had a look seems to have dumped all fluid as the power steering is non existant looks like maybe a pipe came off the resovoir, how do i get at that?

    right, if it's condense, it'll be water,..if it's PAS then it'll be a deep red colour.. what is the fluid?..

    the pump and res is under the drivers headlight.. and the best way to access it is to remove the bumper, there is a HOW2 in the section on how to do it

    its deffo oil but not red in colour, smells like hydraulic oil

    is it yellowish?...if it was PAS it's be a bit red..
