Default Help looking for a mouse table thingy!

Yep, that was the best description I could think of!!

Been doing a bit of rejigging in the office and finally made use of the top part of a PC unit I have and sorted out a place to put the new laptop when I want to be using it here. The docking station fits in nicely, as does the laptop when it's connected.....

...and all hides away nicely when the unit is pushed back in again.

The problem I have is there is no room for a mouse on the surface. I was thinking that some sort of table type attachment to the edge of the unit would work - either one that folds down, or it could just stay there as there is clearance above the main workstation.

I've had a look around but can't find anything. I dare say I could knock something up that would do the trick, but wondered if anyone was aware of something ready made that would do the trick?

It seems difficult to find such items - the only suitable looking mouse shelf is here: http://www.ergostoreonline.com/product469.html

Its in the US but they do mention about overseas customers.

Can't stand them - find them sooo much slower to use than a mouse.

Cheers Dave - looks interesting, albeit a bit pricey! I assume it sticks under the shelf with a sucker thing? I'd still prefer something that can go to the side of the unit if possible. Thanks though.

Monitor riser perhaps? store the other stuff under, and muss on top.

The unit wouldn't then push back under the desk then though. Also, if the mouse was on top how would you use it with the laptop open?

Think it has to be something that attaches to that right lip of the unit.

Cheapest way is probably to buy a small piece of contiboard that matches the desk, cut it to the size you want, and screw a couple of L-brackets to the side of the unit to support it?

Yeah, that was likely to be the "I dare say I could knock something up that would do the trick" option. Thinking about it, I've got a bit of leftover contiboard the same, or near as damn it, as the unit. I may just go for that option as a) it'll be sorted quicker and b) won't cost much!
