Well it was a high bill but hey ho there was more that I missed... front disks and pads, all the break lines including the flexible ones going to the calipers, 2 rear springs and since i decided to put an injector cleaner in the system ( I didn't follow the procedure just put to much in)it didn't pass the emissions... in the end they drained the tank and put fresh fuel in with a cleaner as the injectors were loud...... make a long story shot... i could have bought another vectra for that.. but hey ho it is sorted now....
the onlything i didn't like is the fact that they found an oil leak and they didn't tell me were it is leaking.... funny that so i will have to go and fins were it leaks from as it will drops on the bottom tray I can't spot it..... no problem i will ask them today.

Just read through all your work and must say its a well rewarded result.
Just the way I would like mine too look. I especially like the ducktail spoiler. I've always been wondering if it fits straight to the 4 door trunk hatch?
All the paint work, do you do by your self?
Looking forward to see the porsche wheels on your car.

Thanks @gynge...yes the duck tail spoiler is a direct fit.... I try to do everything myself so yes I did spray the spoiler myself with rattle cans.
The porsche wheels are still on my golf but not for long.....

Right so yesterday I got some electrical conduit paint kit to repair the demister in the rear window.... apparently on the saloon if it in't working the alarm keeps going off randomly... so I got the kit and the stencil is crap so i got some masking tape and tried to mask the lines of the demister properly... that was a pain in the backside but once i got that done i could attempt to get the paint on.... now the kit comes with this paint that costs 10 pounds and is thick as hell, but it was just about enough to cover every break in the circuit with 3 layers... this stuff dries in 5 hours but when i was done ( it took me about 2 hours in total) i tried to put the car on it's alarm ( yeah i just closed the lock from the ns back door) it seems that the random alarm problem is history as normally it takes about 5 minutes before the power sounder goes off.... i didn't take pictures nor did i record it but there are a fast amount of videos on youtube that show you how to do it.
even though you can see the silver colour of the repair stuff from the outside i am glad I didn't have to break the rear window to have it replaced.... i might still have it replaced somewhere in the summertime but for now it seems to have done the job... tedious task to do... even though it comes with a stencil but as it isn't a non stick one it will just let the paint bleed past the stencil.... how i have done it after the 2 hours you can remove the masking tape after you have applied all the 3 needed layers and the little bits that are a bit to wide can be made smaller with a carpet knife blade.

so i just pulled out the top chain tensioner out the engine and cleaned it... pressed it to see if it was leaking but it seemed to be fine so i put it back... started the car and noticed it is less rattly while on idle.... couldn't get to the duplex chain one as the car needs to be lifted up quite high.... so glad i didn't use a grainy engine flush when i last changed the oil... as it seemed like the tensioner wasn't that well lubricated in the first place.. i will soon do the other one and see if the rattle will go away if not than it is time to swap them... o and no their wasn't a lot of play on the timing chain in the first place... i just hate the rattle when driving.

It runs fine mate but.... I still need to get to the duplex chain tensioner.... if it is anything like the top one than it needs to be cleaned also.
I think the oil channel on the bottom one is also blocked.... when I took the car home it had way to much oil in it and I think this is the reason it is like this.
At least at idle it doesn't sound like a tractor any more.

Yeah but that is how I am in hind sight I might have waited for a CDTI but like I said it was more me thinking it would be a waist to let it go to the scrappy...
Especially with the little things that were wrong with it.
But yeah I'm quite pleased with the looks of it at the moment.... but I want to do an xp2 face-lift this year that is if I can get a proper parts list first.
