Thanks mate! but i want to xp2 it... I keep having bad luck with that modification, when i find the parts they are either too far away or even worse the owner decides to not break the car at all but keep it in the end .... I had my eye on this cabbies xp2 cdti 150... for more than 3 years... and guess what he put it up for 400 pounds (because of the 500K plus mileage) and than he decided to keep it, and my old cabby neighbour is to thank for that, apparently he had a good talk with him and he took it off the market... now the thing that is really annoying.... he took it off the market the day i finally spotted him at home... I even pulled the cash out to help him make up his mind but the answer was no I am keeping it, it's been a good work horse but after speaking to your ex-neighbour I realised the engine has just been broken in, i'm going to use it as my holiday car...
I wasn't impressed, but hey up to him.... ps the cars is specced with options and he fitted a complete VXR interior in it... so yeah i would be done in one go as the car is z157.. the same as mine....
anyway i'm still looking for the parts to pop up locally so i can get my XP2 on the saloon it'll be nothing short of amazing once i get that on... because.. it'll be a one off
I was looking for an Irmsher alloy grill but i made my own since mine is an original irmsher grill without the alloy and I would never pay the extortionate prices people ask for them... it's just a brushed aluminium strip with the logo painted on... I have a 3D black logo i would've put on but i debadged the complete car... not going to start with the irmsher logo either
this is what it looks like :
And to think it started from just a strip of raw aluminium, took loads of sanding and it was all done by hand
Looking good
Thanks mate! coming from you i see that as high praise
Thanks Rab! Still looking to move the indicators to the mirrors but haven't found the right size yet, I was thinking to use one of those flowing led ones but they are all to long some can be cut down but that leaves to little as i know exactly how long i want them to be plus I want to incorporate puddle lights also... but it seems to be a mission to find the right stuff... still looking and will find the right stuff soon enough
this is what i pulled out of my engine a week ago...
the story about it has been put up last week, but to make a long story short this is what happens when a clutch fails and almost takes out your engine in the process
So I thought today let me check when my MOT is due... got more than enough time but I spotted an advisory I completely forgot about... one of the drop links n/s front had little play in it... now for a few months I was looking for that weird noise I got everytime it was raining.... it was then drop link so I went and replaced both sides... nice oem ones from the deale that i got from one of the parts guys account... it costed.... 18 pounds in total bargain! Got them put them on and the car drives so much better... no noise either me is a happy dude and so is the car... ps I just used 2 spanners to get them off and for once it didn't take all day to remove an original part from the car.
Just finished the DVR dashcam install... yes it's hardwired... and if you want to use a permanent 12V source the doorlock module fuse (7.5 amp) is a good one to piggy back it off, that is what I have done and it doesn't seem to be causing any problems..this way the cigarette lighter is free again so i can still use it for my phone charger but soon i'll hardwire in a highspeed charging usb port so i can route the cable out of view completely... so that is the next thing on my modification list... just looking at where i'm going to put it as i do use my phone as my satnav.... let's see if i can get a wireless charging phone holder for it that has the cable hidden Aliexpress is the first port of call.
