I got a Travel Assistant from @TheNoon for the cheap price of send costs!!!! but unluckily the TA mounting kit is no longer available and discontinued from the dealers, means now i have to search all Vauxhall specialist breakers for the mounting stuff and the wiring kit, just my luck... in another turn of events on my way to the dealer the blower pack stopped working... nice now i had no heat! luckily the heated leather seats still worked... so drove up to the dealer got the bad news about the above, and than got a price quoted for the resistor pack, i just laughed and said no mate, i can get that for around a tenner, or less. so walked out.. came home, went online got the resistor pack ordered and paid for... than went out to the car and pulled the non working one out, cleaned it ( sprayed with an electrical cleaner than wire brushed it) and tested to see if it would work... it does... so put it back. will replace it when i get the new one. but for now i got the blower working again. yes on all 4 settings. means it probably was/is suffering from collected dirt/corrosion (pins and connector weren't the cleanest)

well since both Vauxhall and Opel have the fitting kit listed as obsolete... i'll just have to modify the wiring and get creative with the base mount, wiring and fixing. Yes I can't find that connector anywhere at the manufacturer Tyco they have a catalogue online but the part number for the cable isn't listed, their part number is stamped on the internal cable on the base mount and inside the TA. I might send them an email first to to see if they can help me out, but i doubt it.

I got the base the problem is the floor connector that sits on the bottom of that base... I have just now found the most important parts of the kit that are no longer available as a kit... so it's the power connector cable, the front floor cover and the front floor metal mount... saves me from making them from scratch. will still need to make the rear seat-base connector from scratch but that is not to hard of a design.

Perhaps the seller is breaking car and could supply the relavent connectors with some loom attached, plus the base and floor cover ?. Sorry didnt realise you had the T/A already.

don't worry abut it getting stuff from that far away is usually a royal pita... i found the lot in the UK so don't have to worry about send costs or added import costs.. so that is what i'm going for...plus if it was fitted by the factory chances are the loom is hidden with the big interior loom resulting in him just cutting it.. and that is what i want to avoid.

Back to some daily stuff, the blower motor resistor pack finally arrived... I replaced the old one since it started to act up again... as I expected it would. But for 8 pounds minus 1p who can complain other than delivery with Yodel took ages! Anyway, it was a simple and quick task, remove glovebox, pull out resistor pack from housing, detached cable, replace pack, connect cable, refit glovebox.... just a t20 and a flashlight was all that was needed (delivery came at 16.45 today, yeah when it was dark)

just found out that one of the registration plate lights decided not to work anymore, had a quick look... bulb burned out... can't complain these have never been replaced by me.. just replaced it with the same type halogen bulb. yeah no I'm not upgrading them as i dislike how the LED versions light up the ground just under the bumper and behind the car (plus why give the authorities a better view on my reg.?)

just went to check the NS rear spring as the car was really bouncy after driving over a really high speed bump... thought must be a broken spring, checked and blow me down the shock absorber managed to free itself from the bottom bush!!! nothing wrong with the bush either... so I just put it back together.. wasn't that hard as i just lined up the arm, made sure the shock absorber was sitting nicely in the middle of the mounting point, took the bolt and bush and drove it back into it's place with a 800nm torque gun... it popped right back into its' place, problem solved. Worst bit was I had to find the right tools to do the job since I recently rearranged all my tools, and put them out of the way.
If it happens again both those rear shock absorber bushes will be replaced with poly bushes as they don't need to be pressed in with so much force. I still don't get that how it happened as nothing is bend or out of place. it's a weird one for sure. I did order new rear shocks though as they are looking bad again and this time around I figured it's best to just replace them with new ones. So those will be delivered soon... but they'll go in the, fit when the weather is better box and todo list, just like my new rear view cam.

Update on the above situation: still sitting where I put it... still have no clue as to how that happened but it's still right were i put it and I have driven the car over a load of high speedbumps and onto quite high pavements yet it's still in the exact same position as it should be.
New rear springs are sitting in the shed awaiting hot weather to be fitted, together with my new rear cam and exhaust. To cold for me to mess about with that now. I'm also gathering the parts for a full big service.. so yes that'll be all fluids, filters, brake pads etc I even got new wipers to go on already but the ones on the car are still fine.
