    Default MOT round 2

since it failed it MOT the dealers done all the work on warrenty even got the shocks done on Network Q. cars going in again friday to find a leak so not sure how long they will have it.

this morning i went back to garage that did MOT to book a retest only to find they can't fit me in till monday ARGGGGG.

i says to guy u only have to look under wheel arch to see the work has been done 30 seconds tops, no he says it needs to go up on ramps so i can check properly, so i have to wait till monday with no MOT (ran out yesterday) yes he says like f***** i says ill go some where else.

my question is can i take my retest at a different MOT garage or do i need to take a full test again.

I don't think you can take a retest at another garage matey, you'd have to go for the full test or wait until Monday.

What's an MOT these days, about £45. Weigh that against no car for the weekend.

the garage that did the test was 35 quid the garage the rest around here differ between 40 and 50 quid. the cars at the dealers friday but it would mean driving it with no MOT for work and to take it to the dealers and back.

looks like im going to have to cough up 45 quid for wot should be 30 seconds work.

Tell them you need the car urgently and will have to take it for a test elsewhere, then ask what the implications are if the 2nd garage spot anything else of say what they did isn't done good enough.

Personally I think someone is riding you, the retest should only take 10 mins, and anyone wanting to get you back in again because of good service in future would realise this and sort it out for you, go above him and explain politely to someone else higher up the food chain and see if they might have more grey matter and help you out.

well done it , took it to a different garage 30 quid so wasnt too bad in the end they was the 6th MOT garage i went to all others booked up.

the other garage has blown it ill not use them again.

    edit:-

just seen VV post yes was worried that they would find somthing the others missed mainly because this tester was going round the car with a microscope pointing this out and that like 1 washer jet going too high and missing screen but in the end he passed it phew im just glad its over hate MOT time.

    Name & Shame Yorkie.

I find the whole thing quite Neanderthal myself, and very unhelpful.
