You seem to offer discount for members yet when I have tried to get a quote yesterday I got an email saying I don't meet the minimum requirement as you can't insure me in my area. Looks like i'll be using either Adrian Flux or Brentacre as they seem to be able to offer me a decent quote

Hi, yes I'm afraid we do have some restrictions on postcodes placed on us by insurers. Most of the time the parking arrangements allow us to quote but you're on the road so that's a definite decline. Good luck with your search.

So basically because I park my car on the street outside my house even though it's in a nice area you can't insure me. That's the biggest load of b0llocks I've ever heard

It's a combination of your postcode and the overnight parking arrangements. Obviously, insurance is not a public service it's a business and to qualify for the special club scheme they have set some criteria to reduce the likelihood of claims by declining more risky profiles.

Big incentive to try Comparethemarket or GoCompare (try both, as they do deal with different companies and you will get a lot more options) - at least if any of the Insurers don't like your postcode they won't waste your time giving you a quote. Just be careful to check the small print, excesses, etc.
