Has anyone had any problems with a heayvy vibration when driving. Started today and i cant pinpoint it. Seems like it could be a misfire but i'm not loosing power. Clutch/gearbox maybe.

Bit of an upodate on the problem.
Its been at Lookers Chester since wednesday and after talking to vauxhall about who will be paying as it is 2,000 mile over warranty its been agreed that vauxhall will pay 90% of the cost which is fair enough for me.
They seem to think the problem is the timing chain being at fault. but aren't sure until they strip it which should have been done today.
Not heard from them yet so i dont know if it will be done or not. I'm without my veccy till monday at least now. Never realised how s**t Meriva's are compared to mine. Almost get sea sick going round corners.
So they replaced the timing chain. Suprise suprise no change. waste of time and money letting them have it. They told me it must be the clutch. So i've taken it away from them as vauxhall wont pay a penny towards it.
I'll do the clutch myself. Fed up of them wasting time on it.
oh gawd.... hope you get it sorted
I would ask for a refund for the money you paid towards the timing chain, as they ARE THE "TRAINED TECHNIANS" who fault diagnosed. They made the wrong diagnostic,so why are you to pay ANYTHING.WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WASN'T AND MAYBE IT WAS A FAULTY/WORN ENGINE MOUNT..
id ask for a refund..
GIVE THEM HELL>>
good luck mate and please reply as i would like to know the outcome...cheers ,,,micky.
Well I took the gearbox off to replace the clutch that i was told was needed.
Not only is the clutch naffed but the slave cylinder but the flywheel aswell. And its not an old fashioned one. Its known as a dual mass flywheel which means its got some sort of fluid in for shock absorbtion. This means its expensive. £300 for the flywheel £120 for the slave and£90 for the clutch.
I'm gonna get on to vauxhall customer service because the dealer said vx wouldn't contribute to the cost as i was doing the job myself.
At least I can fix the car which is more than the so called experts did.
Bad luck mate, but look on the bright side, chance to put in a lightened Flywheel from regal ??

My signum 2.0 dti also has a vibration whilst driving. When starting the car or moving off from standstill an exhaust knocking noise and vibration is present, it sounds like a tractor! I checked the exhaust mounting and all appears well. The vibration stays with car througth out the rev range no matter the speed. The car was serviced recently and the exhaust knocking was mentioned but I was assured the car passed the drive test during service.
This is the first vauxhall I have owned and to say a signum is motorway car is a joke. The car is a year old with 14,000 on the clock and drives like an old mini 20 years old. A drink in the cup holder just spills all over the place when driving on a road with any sort of bumps. I mean the car has to run on a glass surface to feel free from what I call car patter, the vibration from the engine is always their to add to the wonderful feel. With clutch noise when ever the clutch is pressed down it is really a pain to drive around town. Other than that the car is great to look at.
Would like to here from anybody what could be the cause of the one or more problems and what to do about it.
I bought the car 2 months ago and it is getting worse everyday.
Thanks
