Normally if you don't have the Pass Key, then to get a replacement key you need to book the car and they REMOVE the stereo
You are then without a stereo for a few days
They then phone you back to say the key is ready

I don't know if that procedure has changed

Why don't you have the second key?
I had this when I bought my first Vectra B and they had to replace all the keys and locks for FREE

they don't have to do anything of the like thesedays..

they just cross reference the cars VIN number with the central records...it's all stored on there..all the key serial numbers, immobiliser codes, radio codes if needed..

in fact as long as you've got a car that would have had a car pass issued then it's all stored on computer.. so thats from about 1990 on..
