Just based on personal experience. If a remap gives you the extra power/torque you are expecting/looking for, why bother?
Not dissing aftermarket filters at all, or the benefit they can bring, just wondering why bother if the remap does the job you want it to.
Seems to me changing the air filter is a bit like getting a n/a engine remapped. Low gains unlesss you spend serious money on other things.
No doubt gains and better driveability can be achieved with an aftermarket filter, but remap and de-restricting the airbox does it for me.
To be fair, I wouldn't trust myself farting about with anything in the engine bay, so I plead ignorance where appropriate, and give full respect to those who know more than I do (which is a great deal).
