    Default Wheels appear off balance?

Car was going fine, until I had to replace my front tyres as the were worn

Had two brand new Goodyear NSTC5 tyres fitted exact same type size and make as original ones fitted, drove off, got wheel vibration at 65 - 80 MPH

Took it back, got another man at tyre depot to check balancing, found the one to be 15 grams out and the other 20 gram out , re-balanced

Same result, wheel vibration at 70, worse

Took to different tyre depot and they found one was still 15 grams out other 10 grams out re-balanced.

Now ever worse vibration, this is getting silly I thought, so I have now swapped the front and back tyres around, slightly better, but still not happy ?

Is there any way, that with them jacking the car up at one corner at a time on a trolley jack that they could have damaged the anti roll bushes or dislodge the suspension causing this vibration, wheel bearings seem ok as I have pulled and pushed on them and there’s no play?

Its really starting to annoy me now, as the car used to drive so smoothly, now it shakes my wrists to bits

Anyone else had this problem after replacing their tyres, or is all these tyre depots got doggy balancing machines???

it took vx 3 goes to fix it on mine, apparently, its a common problem and they had to balance them using a fine setting.

    no problems now, thank god.

the best bet is to take it to vx - coz most tyre dealers aren't the smoothest, especially when theres a problem.

yep, it's HIGHLY unlikey to be any form of other damage..

Vectra's and Signums are VERY sensitive to their balancing and if you go to any old tyre fitters they will just throw on the lead and leave you to it..

you need to find a quality fitters...mine now know only to balance it on 'fine' and to do 2 more runs after they've added the weights.

Check where the valve and weights are fitted
I had to have them refit a new tyre when I pointed out the valve and weights weren't in the right place

The tyre should have a red dot and this is the weak point of the tyre, and should be as near to the valve as possible

I asked the fitter man that, but these new tyres don't seem to have that Red dot anymore, he told me they stopped putting them on the new tyres?

This will tell you why the Vec. (amongst others) is so sensitive. You need static and dynamic balancing done on fine settings as above.

The Vec. is the first motor I've ever had which my local fitter could not balance. The place that did it correctly used a balancer_like_this_one.

In the absence of any suggestions of places local to you they have a search facility which will locate the nearest one.

    Just a suggestion
