    Post insurance madness

Well maybe not madness as such ..

I just phoned Admiral, as Im collecting the Vec on the 25th, I need a note to give to garage to get it taxxed ..

to change the policy from the mondeo tdci zetec s to the Vec SRi 150 cdti .. £38.... yup, no worries with that ..

whilst I had her attention.. I asked her to quote me for the Vec with wifey on the policy, bear in mind she is learning to drive hence on a provisional license ... £27 more .. ( not £38 + £27 .... £27 )

    loonacy lol..

so to insure her punto , 1.2 8v, 60 bhp is £300 for us both, her as main, me as named .. for the Vec, me as main her as named , 2.5 x the bhp lol.. £330.

Im not sure Im gonna tell her she's insured on it .. but might be worthy of note to some of you looking fora way to lower a policy quote ..

Just watch Admiral and their customer service. The amount of rows I've had with them the last 3 or 4 weeks over Direct debits is rediculous. Yet another useless offshore call centre.

I think there's something about if you are male and have a spouse (known to your insurer by putting them on your insurance) then you're less likely to have an accident than a single male.

Something to do with the friendly advice that is often offered from the passenger seat!

Yep as said ... most insurance companies offer a discount for wifes and partners. I have just renewed my insurance and ended up going with Privilege again as they were substantially cheaper than the majority. I had to laugh though as I had one quote from a bunch of shysters named BrokerDirect who wanted £6728.08 for the year ... I wonder if you get a free car if you insure for two years! One company I was shocked at were Co-Op who are meant to be ethical and nice and what not ... they wanted £2,443.98!!

dropped off at the pub, chance would be a fine thing .
lets just say BSM are getting rich off me ....

some companies are beyond belief with quotes ... Admiral tried to deny the confused.com price I quoted them was genuine ( they worked out cheapest last year) and refused to match, " Im off then, 8 year customer about to lea..." , sir, I will see what I can do .. et voila lol...
