Im gettin a metal on metal grinding/scratching when brakin medium to hard from the fornt passenger corner.

ive had a look at the obivious and its had new discs and pads recently, that never helped.
ive looked at the backing plate, calipers, caliper bracket, wheel. ive looked for lodged stones etc.

im hopin they will find the problem as its been goin on for a couple of months now and its doin my head in.

im thinkin it cud be bearings, but it only happens under braking (thought it might be because of the extre force applied when braking).

Might just have the answer, check the engine shield, last mech that serviced mine managed to break it in half, granted I started the split rummaging around on my back last time I did it, but he finished it off for me, tucked it back up and said nowt, out of interest I reported it to hear the bull they'd come out with, and sure enough, wait for it....the mechanic seems to think you've hit something, and for good measure he also ripped a 5 inch section off of it to make it look authentic, we can put another one on for you sir it's only £200 fitted, no thanks says I, but it now falls down every now and again, and makes just the sound you describe as it drags the floor.

had a look last nite, all is fine with the engine shield part.

This happened to me, It turned out to be the pads even though there was 3/4s left on them. They looked as if the wear pad had cracked. I changed them and all is fine. There was no signs of over heating or anything been trapped.
