No I have not checked but the kit includes new sliders , rubbers and the caps plus silicone grease for £7 if it doesn't work then not a problem , but atleast it rules out the rubber and the slider itself, I will clean any corrosion while I am there

If your caliper repairs, sliders, etc. do not resolve your problem, and it is likely they will, then try replacing the flexible pipe to that caliper. In fact, probably replace them all because the other flexis will be going the same way.

I replaced all my flexy hoses with stainless steel brake lines from Wezmoto , a couple of us have fitted these on here , I would have suggested the same thing as Nick , the guide pins holes do get a build up of aluminium oxide causing th hole to be reduced in diameter , this was mentioned in my rebuild caliper thread .
Although mine are 314mm its no different for other calipers , if once you have cleaned them out and use silicone grease or red grease as copper grease is not good for guide pin rubbers .
Then as Paul suggested @GSiFan replace the hoses . Hope this also helps .

Hi guys , so I changed the guide pins and installed new rubbers in the holes and give them a good clean while I was there , put it back together with silicone grease and its still the same , slightly better as I can tell its cooler but its still getting very hot , liquid on the disc after driving sizzles , so what does everyone think i should change next ? The flexi pipe ? Is there anything else that could cause heat like that in that area ? Thanks

Depending on how confident you are working on car brakes, you could try relieving the pressure inside the affected caliper by letting a tiny amount of fluid out of the bleed nipple. If that frees up the caliper and the wheel can rotate again, then the flexible brake pipe could be at fault.

I am not certain how wise it would be to even attempt the above, however, because the brakes would most likely need to be bled afterwards.

A better idea might be to replace the flexible pipe on that corner and see if that cures the issue. If you are not confident with working on car brakes or if you have any doubts about doing this job, get a friendly garage to do it instead.

Thanks for the replies , I'm capable of doing the work that's needed I just wasn't sure were the problem was , I remembered you mentioning the flexi hose so that was going to be my next move , but after driving it for a few days they are now fine , it seems the new sliders , rubbers and silicone grease has done the trick but I will be keeping an eye on them in case the issue starts again , I'll keep that in mind @jaguser over the next week or so incase it happens again , the car needs its mot soon so I'm trying to get all the issues sorted before , thanks again

Try replacing your caliper springs....i ve just fixed my brakes after 6 years due to sprngs that were never replaced meaning the pads were riding on the discs....theyre like €2 each!
