    Default Grrrr!

Took the Mrs MLC's 02reg Fiesta in for new driveshaft gaiter today (MOT tomorrow) Mr Mechanic reckons the seals on the steering rack have gone, hence the slow leak of fluid.
He reckons on £500 fitted for a refurbished steering rack

I've given it a good wipe down and am praying that I get a short sighted MOT tester tomorrow. Annoying thing is, we were planning to p/x it once it's MOT'd, and get something a bit bigger.

Anybody got any (sensible) suggestions (MOT runs out in a weeks time)

    Ooooch!

Only thing would be another Fiesta at a breakers that's been hit up the derierre, rob the rack out of that.

Take it that it's the older shape Fiesta? must be thousands of those around? £500 notes sounds like he's trying to have you over.

Give it another wipe down before you take it in, then keep talking to the tester whilst he is at work!!!!!!!!!
    Then keep your fingers crossed

Well, I have never used it, and it may not be suitable for your problem, but if you are gona trade it in anyway, I guess theres not much to loose in trying it.

Get another opinion on the work, maybe he is trying to pull a fast one?
Also, you could prob pick a steering rack up from a scrapy quite cheap.

Cheers Martin! Put some 'stop leak' in and it's just gone straight through the mot! Big sighs all around! Mrs MLC is very pleased

Got to start looking for something focus/astra sized now!
