Get out. Massive money black hole that could be spent elsewhere internally.

I am not sure which way to vote the EU has its advantages and disadvantages, being the 5th largest economy in the world should give the UK a chance going it alone, but the EU is the worlds largest trading block so maybe not such a good idea to leave.

I have my own reasons to maybe leave, having been working as a contract engineer for 10 years I found myself without work, being essentially self employed when I found no work I was told that I could not claim benifits, so hoping that a new contract would come along or a permanent position I lived off savings, as those were going down to a much reduced level I contacted the DWP again and yes I can now claim basic Job Seeker allowance but that is it, nothing else at all. However, if I were an EU migrant earning minimum wage with little skill, I could claim Tax credits and family allowance for the family I left in Europe, plus housing allowance for rent and council tax.

Going further afield say Afganistan and claimed asylum here I woulkd get free housing, clothing allowance, a benifits card too pay for food, and leagally not required to work.

So the decisionn for me should be clear cut?

As far as I have seen the deal that has been cut by Dvid Cameron is the be a phased in deal concerning the benifits, but little or no details have been stated as yet, or maybe never given to the general population?

Phased in? What does that mean? Slowly reduce the benifits over a 4 year paeriod? Slowly increase from nothing the beniftis able to be claimed?

But the benifits are just a small part of the deal, more importantly is the possibility that the EU will have less influance on UK law maybe in the future.

The never joining thhe Euro is not an issue as it would take a very brave goverment to join that, howevr, the deal were we no longer help in Euro bale outs is significant.

    I'm slightly confused here.......

A few months ago during the UK 'Civil War' lol, was one of Cameron's main points that if Scotland Broke away we'd lose out as we wouldn't be in the EU and we'd need to apply blah blah blah....

But now he thinks it's a good idea to leave?

One of the main reasons I will vote to leave is that we've all had to push and push just for a vote to leave.
If its so good being in the EU we wouldn't want to leave would we ? We rarely hear any actual positives from being in the EU, we're just TOLD its good to be in.
Its like we're too dumb to understand so they think we should just believe them and not question anything. I suppose that's the same for most politics across all parties.

The whole "We voted to join" argument is null really as the EU now is nothing like the "Common Market" that we originally joined.
Besides we don't need to be part of the EU to trade with the EU.
I know bushiness are split on weather to leave or not, and that speaks for itself. If we were truly better being in, wouldn't almost all of them want to stay in ?

I really don't know if we'd be better off or not, but at least we'd be better able to control ourselves.
