    Default What To Do

a couple of weeks ago I posted a topic on how when we got our new Vec the dealer didnt give us a spare key, service book, etc.

so we paid them a visit, and last week got sent a laminated substitute for the car pass, titled "vauxhall security information" then we get sent the proper car/radio pass card, and the original spare key. but still no service book or AA card.

cant really blame the dealer as the previous owner never supplied these things, then we discover its because the previous owner is a car hire company. vectra - too popular for its own good.

so what do we do about the book, thinking we'll give them another week as they've got us everything else we asked for, then go see them, but what then if they tell us the hire company has lost the book/card or they cant get hold of it?

as you can imagine, this is vital to keeping the warranty. so whats best action?

    Hi Mate

If the car as been seviced by the dealer, they should have all the info on their
computer database. I cant see why they cannot issue you with a replacment as they should have all the car history in front of them.

My problem is that I have only one key, they couldn't find the other one. It's been nearly three weeks now. I don't bother ringing them, I just keep going in to the dealership and do a little moaning.
Hopefully it should get sorted this week..

Nah the dealer I bought it from is up here in Glasgow, they car was originally owned by a company in Chester.

salesman mentioned something about ordering 1 in, so is it possible that we ourselves could phone up vauxhall, verify the car is ours and get a new book. also does the service book need the pre delivery inspection filled in with original company details, supplying dealer stamp, etc? to keep the warranty, cos the chances of getting the original owner and supplying dealer to stamp a duplicate book for a 6month old car is pretty slim IMO.
