They are seen as "consumables". Had this on mine last year while it was still under warranty. Stealer charged 64.00 labour + 61.00 per shock absorber (both need to be changed even if only one is leaking). Add on VAT and it came to nearly 200 quid.

Be thankful the springs are under warranty. Mine went earlier this year (out of warranty) and that cost nearly 400.

I must have been lucky with my Edition 100 then - 6 months into my Network Q they told me that one of the rear shocks was leaking and it wasn't under warranty, I said 'Network Q', and mumbled something (totally off the top of my head) about not paying for something caused by the abuse of the car by the previous owner' (load of kak), and they agreed to pay for sorting it. Then I mentioned my front nearside foglight was permanently misted up, and they said it wasn't covered by warranty and I said it was, (so i found out on this site!) and they sorted that too.

Am learning not to be fobbed off by dealers, largely thanks to all you knowledgeable people on this site who help people like me who know diddely squat about cars. Many thanks.

I was OK this year on it's second MOT - same as you ... mind you still cost a fortune as it also had a major service and cam-belt change

Still thought better to get it changed now (65k miles and not done up to now) as it would cost more if it went ping!
