Default Locking wheel nut key ! help

Hi all , trying to remove the locking wheel nuts from the car and they are so tight that its damaged the key , see attached piccy , now .. im not fussed about keeping the locking nuts , thats why im trying to remove them to fit standard nuts , so how can i get by this simply ?
Im aware of a removal tool ... would this be ok as im not in favour of spending £30 on a new key

    thanks in advance

The AA can get them off for you if you are covered. It happened to me once when I lost the key and I had to replace a tyre.

Get the dealer to undo it and then replace the whole set.

Search the forum for "locking wheel nut" - (with the quotation marks)

If someone wanted your wheels that badly, the whole car would get stolen

I honestly can't remember any wheels getting stolen since the 80s. More trouble than they're worth.

Maybe that's because of locking wheel nuts??

Alloy wheels were very attractive when they first appeared, being uncommon and prestige items. Now they are on all except the most basic models. Maybe still worth it for expensive wheels.

I would assume that any self respecting alloy wheel thief would have a good selection of (stolen) locking keys.
