    Default Eibach Lowering Springs...

Brand new in the box. More kit I bought for the Vectra but never fitted. The Eibach part Number is 10-65-007-01-22, the blurb says they're suitable for Vectra C Hatch/Saloon: FRONT 966kg TO 1060kg, REAR UP TO 980kg.

The Eibach catalogue says: Suitable for Vectra hatch Saloon 1.8, 2.0 Turbo, 2.2, 3.2, 2.2 DTi. I e-mailed them separately, and they confirmed that the 1.9 CDTI 16v fell into this category also.

The drop is 30mm over a standard car - but a SRI is already 15mm lower than a standard car, so the Eibachs drop it a further 15mm.

Usual rules... PM me for first dibs...

I'm looking for £120 for these, which does not include postage. If you want them posted, it'll be £15 extra - this is what my local P&P place charges for ParcelForce generally - if it's anything less, I'll refund the difference. Open to sensible offers if you think this is excessive.

So... PM's at the ready... and.... GO!

They will 100% fit... I have e-mails from the Eibach factory as well as LMF confirming this. If you buy the higher rated springs (i.e. for the next axle weight up) with Eibachs, chances are you'll be sitting high - has happened to loads of people on here.

20kg extra up front is like having an extra bag of cement under the bonnet. Will it make a difference... ?

Officially, the 10-65-007-01-22 springs are indeed good for up to 1060kg, with the next set up good for 1130kg. Lots of Vectra 1.9's sitting high on those springs tho'.

I was tempted to buy these exact springs off Paddy before LMF sorted me out a blinding deal for a complete set up!!

I know what Paddy is saying - my car sits about 15mm higher than i would have liked at the front - i have the proper 1130kg MAX weight ones.

I spoke to Steve @ LMF at great length about going for the weaker springs as i wanted it lower at the front but he said to me to go for the heavy weighted springs...as they are higher weighted for a reason.

To be honest i had probs before with the wrong weighted springs so i just went for the safe option of getting the right springs for my model (1.9 cdti) - however i dont know if it really would make a big difference if you went for these...prob not a great deal i guess......

I understand now, I suppose its upto the individual what they want really

but if the difference is 20kg then I can't see it making much difference as you say

Wasn't a criticism by any means mate... speak to Spoons & a few more that are at Irmscher this weekend - there has been so much hassle with Eibach springs, specifically with a less-than-adequate drop... it's all down to the weights - I think Opel / Vauxhall mark the weight very conservatively on the B-pillar. I was in touch with James (above) extensively about this a while back, and feared that it might not go as low as it should...

I completely understood James' thinking, but the difference between 1060 & 1080kg is minimal - bag of cement argument!

Lastly, I met up with a couple of the main players from this site a couple of months ago, and they were also unhappy with the Eibach rating, and were seriously contemplating going a size lower to achieve the required drop - this is a recognized fact at the moment - Eibachs are overrated (in some respects)! Excellent springs, but the weight ratings are so conservative....

thanks for the advice, i'm glad you've brought this up cause I'm about to order a set, and from what you've said I will probably fit the lighter ones so I get the drop I want

If I fitted the 'correct' springs I was expecting the front to drop 15mm, now because my front axle is 1080kg that means I wouldn't even get that?

and if I went for the weaker springs will it be lower than 15mm?

sorry about all the questions but its better to be sure before I buy them

the "proper" weighted ones will drop 15mm all round yes...... 30mm if yours isn't an SRi already.

the weaker springs will prob make it sit a bit further down.
