Talking I have a dump valve, I have a dump valve, I have a dump valve and it works!

It's not a shop bough dump valve but it is rated to 10 bar and fits quite nicely.

I have only operated it at 3000rpm while stationary so far because I don't have a microswitch; so the solenoid is operated by wires running through the passengers window and me pushing it into the lighter socket.

Going to get a micoswitch tomorrow and do some actual driving with it but so far, the ECU hasn't thrown a wobbly and it sounds great. Need to make a trumpet to screw on so it makes more noise.

Would this also fit onto a 2.0 DTI lump?

    Chris

P.S. Why is the microswitch needed?

I used a normally closed electrical solenoid valve, which set me back about £30 and that's it. I could make a quick system using this valve to run any shop bought dump valve though. You would just need two of these valves, some washer piping, a t-piece and the dump valve. Oh and a microswitch and wires which I still need to get today.

Sounds interesting, when you have completed the install would you be able to give a quick guide to fitting plus some pics - I intend to try this myself in the very near future.

    Cheers,
