in my opinion, induction kits are only good for two things - noise and making your car slower!

they soak up all the heat from the engine bay and in turbo car theres lots of heat under the bonnet

the best thing is to buy a decent replacement panel filter - K&N are one manufacturer - and modify the airbox to reduce restictions. this protects the air intake from heat whilst vastly improving the intake.

I beg to differ there m8...i agree about the noise...but whacking one a V6 sounds awesome and as for making your car slower, definitely not the case for me..altho i cant pass comment on every engine type..heat isnt a problem either, buy a cold air intake hose and run it from the lower grille, mine actually gets enough off the original cold air intake but am gonna fit another in few weeks.

i've only ever went for panel filters but heres what i know from what peeps have told me when i checked them out.

They do work but as has been said they only work using cold air, which means on some vauxhall 16v engines they dont do much good. best bet would be a panel filter, i've fitted a k+n i bought from LMF. or depending how much you want to spend get one of the carbon fibre viper kits. there not cheap, around £250 but they block heat so you get more power.

Give LMF a call mate or one of the tuners like courtenay or regal.

The BMC Cda unit is supposed to be great for turbo units, as its enclosed like the viper. Got far better results than the viper tho on the astra turbo's and this is what all the big power astra turbo guys swear by.

    AJA.

Not sure if you have seen, but there is a K&N 57i Induction kit on the K&N Website for the 1.9 CDTi Vectra 147bhp
    www.knfilters.com

Not sure how much it is though.

Anybody know how much the benfits would be?

    Tim.

enclosed fitlers are quite poor for turbo cars.
