    Default Full works....

As usual this has become long winded and I took too many photos but what the hey! I have tried to keep the photos down this time honest!

Last weekend I washed the car and clayed it and scratch-x'd it. It sat on the drive for the week as I'm working away, This weekend I went out and did a full step 1-2-3 on it:

After a week there was a film of dust on the car. so following on from this thread., I popped round to the parents and knicked their Karcher. Then off to Halfords to buy a foamer, Megs 1-2-3, Cloths and a new bucket.

I put NXT wash in the foamer:

It worked a treat. I dried the car off with a "scrapper" and then washed it again with a mitt and 2 buckets. I dried it again with a scrapper and water magnet and left it to dry. While it dried I Cleaned the windows and wheels before foaming the wife’s bus and washing it down.

It looked pretty good at this point and some NXT wax probably would have done.

However I was in the mood for scrubbing so stage one the paint cleaner:

I had used scratch-x last week. Some scratches wouldn't budge, but the Step-1 stuff made mince meat of them and the paint work looked great.

    Next the Polish:

The polish is a little thick and a little more effort was required. However the cars colour seamed to darken and shine. Another problem was the bright sunlight. I did the shaded sides first and paid close attention to the sunny sides.

    Finally the Canuba:

Like the Polish, the canuba required a little extra attention in the sunlight. I liked the finish however IMO I can see a "pattern" on the bonnet (and only the bonnet) that matches the circular motion of the clothes. It ain’t scratched just seams like there’s a veneer of dirt under the wax/lacquer.

After that I dressed the tires with Megs Tire gel. It went on really easily and was very effective. It was much better than the Megs hot tyre dressing spray I had been using.

I had started the job with new pads and clothes. The car was clayed a week before and scratch-x'd. Look at me new clothes now!

Then I took the car...no I mean my son out for a drive as he'd been waiting 6 hours for me. On my drive I came across a mate who has just got a 2.2ltr Lexus Diesel. We went back to his place. He tried to loose me but I kept up no probs in my 1.9 120+ CDTi :

After I left his place I tried to catch a blood red sunset by the Dee but missed it by a couple of minutes.

Looking great mate, bet you needed a shower after that little lot. I had all my wheels off today and did the arches, dressed them in AG Rubber Vinyl & Rubber Care then washed and waxed all my alloys with Megs #16. Next week im claying then the following week its the 123 but im going to give the Megs #7 a go instead of stage 2. Its dam hard work but I bet you felt king of the road after.
