    Default Sorry but Service Question

Went to start the Signum up tonight and I had the Spanner and Oil Can light on the display for a few seconds before going off. Looked it up and says Service in the hand book. I am supposed to be able to push the reset thing while the ignition is off and it will tell me how long till next one, this does not seem to be happening.

The other bit is I bought the car the end of October and it had had a service on 17/8/06 at 42,721 and I am now on 54,500 I was under the impression it was every 20k for a service??

Also noticed the dealer has filled in the service book incorrectly and has used the service schedule for the Agila!!!! Does this make a difference?? Is it something I should be asking them to rectify by filling in the right section for the Signum??

    Thanks

This usually indicates there are less than 1000 miles to next service
When there are less than 500 miles it will stay on all the time

To see if your car is on ECO-SERVICE
Sit in the car, put the key in
Press the odometer reset and HOLD it in
The miles to next service should appear now

As for the previous service, the book is stamped, the mileage and date is entered
How would they have used the schedule for the Agila?

Does the service book not have a service for 2 years / 20K miles?
Did you not question this when you bought the car?

My service book has pages for all models The book has been stamped etc using the Agila section "not" the Vectra C / Signum that are either Service Interval G or N.

The book has stamps for 8/4/05 21691 and 17/8/06 42721 so I am assuming it's on 20k service intervals and no did not question when I bought the car as only just noticed it.

Mine is confusing as well. There appears to be a lot of conflicting information around.

Just done 17200 miles and today the display now shows "insp 1000" when I switch on and off. Service book shows 20K service intervals - any idea which one is right?? Car is Sept 2006 150CDTI Elite. Thanks

Just tried this and all that happened was it bought the symbol up. Tried it with key in and held button in and got the following

1.7 in top line and 002 03 in the bottom line.

Your car is on ECO-service then, not FLEXI-service

The first service was at 21691 miles, that's 1191 miles over the limit!
The second was at 42721, that's 530 miles over the limit!

Assuming the car is mileage lead, and not date lead, I'd be back the selling dealership and finding out if clawback applies
I also assume the original warranty has expired and the car is now covered by Network Q or a third party waranty
I'd be contacting them as well, just to make sure

I had clawback on a Rover I was looking at
As soon as I saw the service book I pointed out that the 12K mile service was overdue, by 3K miles
The dealership would perform a service before sale and then another at the CORRECT interval
This satisfied the warranty and brought the warranty back inline

So.............is it due a service then??? If it's every 20k?? It has only done 12k since last service??? It has Network Q cover until Oct this year. It's a Jan 04 53plate car.

the service interval is a maximum not when its due, some cars will need to be serviced more regulary than another depending on how the car is used despite both being on the ecoflex service interval, also you must use 5w30 long life oil

First service is due at Sept 2008 or 20K miles
However, your car has Flex-service, so you need to watch the service indicator
Your car is telling you it requires a service BEFORE the criteria above, so book it in now (based on how long it will take you do 1000 miles)
