Default Heater goes off when lights turned on

Hi, has anyone across this, or has a solution to this problem, my heater works perfectly until I turn the lights on, then it goes off and will not work until the side/head lights are turned off, at this point it works perfectly again.
Not problematic in the summer, but a real pain on these cold misty mornings of autumn.

The car is a 2007 facelift Vectra C, and I am not experiencing any other electrical problems that I know of.

A usual suggestion is to open the bonnet, lock the car and leave it alone for 20 minutes whilst everything shuts down.
Then disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. 10mm Socket or nut driver.
This will reset all the modules in the car back to factory settings.
You should have no problem with the radio, but you might have to train the one touch windows again.
You do this fully opening the window by holding the switch down, then fully shut the windows by holding the switch and when the window gets to the top keep holding the switch for 5 seconds.

There is also a 'Vectra secrets (you would know if you read the manual)' thread that also covers this.

Checked the fusebox on passenger side of dash? Have you been messing with glovebox light?

    Thanks TonyP2020,
This is my first Vauxhall since an FE Victor, and I bought it privately three weeks ago without any Manuals, I do`nt know if the fault was present when I bought the car, it`s only shown up last week, will try the FIX though.

Thanks strothow, No not touched anything, checked all the fuses I could find (Boot-Engine compartment) did not notice an access panel in dash side for fuses though, so will look at that to-moz.

Welcome back to Vauxhall's and welcome to Vectra-C.com.
You will be required to post photo's of your Vectra, it's one of the rules here.
Clay Shooting eh? I used to work at Promatic, I assume that you have heard of them. What Club are you in?

Hi again TonyP2020, bit new to these forums, never needed to use one before, but I have found some of the problems and comments, very interesting, and it`s obviously a good place to pool and gather information, especially with modern cars as technical and complicated as they are.

Promatic YES! I am the secretary of Hemsworth & District Clay Pigeon Club, we use four Promatic Harrier traps and a Super Hawk, plus one Bowman Super match One, a Target Tech 6 (No longer made) and a Laporte 185, all bought new apart from the Laporte which was manufacturer refurbished. Tried a trap that was offered to us really, really, and I mean really cheap by the importer, but the ****** thing was always broke, it spent more time with the importer than it did with us, so we sent it back and demanded and got a refund, I think it came from a communist country somewhere.

I have been to the factory at Station Road Hooton several times to collect new traps, and once for a repair under warranty, bit off putting when I arrived the first time and found a collection of really old buildings, do not know what I expected, but it was not that, never had any complaints though, the Cafe on the estate opposite is a bonus after travelling from Yorkshire.

    Hi there,
Checked the Dash Side fuses today, could not get to it earlier it`s been persisting it down with rain here in Yorkshire, thunder, lightening, torrential rain, the lot.
Downloaded a fuse plan from the internet and checked three fuses (2-23-25) marked as Climate Control, Fan or Air Con, all fuses intact, but replaced with new ones anyway, re-checked and renewed the No 4 fuse in the engine compartment, still no joy, started then and checked every fuse I could under bonnet and Dash end, eventually found fuse No 12 (10amp Battery Overload Protection) in Dash End had blown, replaced and everything is now working fine apart from the Reversing Sensors, they worked prior to fuse checks to-day, now they don`t, fuse for these (28) is in the boot and had not been touched, checked and renewed fuse but still they don`t work, but it`s now a lot warmer in the car and I can see where I am going.

    Hi man,
I have the same issue as mentioned above, fan goes off when I'm turing on the lights. It happened exactly when I was messing around with glovebox light...

    Any suggestions?
I have checked passenger fuse box and all seems to be fine there.
