    Default New Mondeo

I think this has been mentioned before, but came across some pics...
Although I'm not to keen on the old Mondeo, I do like the look of the dash on this one.
Good standard toys to: Standard equipment across the range includes Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Ford Easyfuel capless refuelling with fuel inhibitor to prevent misfuelling, Thatcham Cat. 1 alarm, air conditioning, 'follow-me-home' lights, trip computer and an MP3 connector socket.....
    Other toys...
....Advanced new driver-focused technologies are available, and include keyless entry and keyless start with "Ford Power" start button, new Ford "Convers+" Human Machine Interface (HMI) instrument display, Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert, Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control with Hill Launch Assist, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.

    the New Mondeo?
    Its going to be huge!!!

No more Passat king of the class, but Mondeo Mondeo and only Mondeo.
I am sorry to say, but Ford has moved from the crapiest manufacturer through the 80s and 90s to one of the leading manufacturers in all the classes.

The new focus totally destroys the Golf in any field.
The new Mondeo of what I'v read should be by far superior than anything out there.

So I get angry, and want to get a big hammer and slam those backwards GM heads of doing nothing with Opel for the past 15 years.
I swear I would be doing far better job as a GM director of the Opel segment.

    P.S
You dont let Ford pass you by, NEVER!!!

    P.S 2
If you let Ford pass you by, you are so done!!!!

I wouldn't touch another Mondeo, even if it was given to me for FREE
The warranty is only 3 years / 60K miles, and I tried to get an extension on mine and it was a stupid price

The SONY CD player in mine was faulty from day one, and it took 15 months to get a replacement
Another simple warranty claim took 3 visits to the dealership, the claim process is a joke!
You book the car in so that they can LOOK at the fault
You then book the car in again so that they can CONFIRM the fault
You then wait several days so they can FIX the fault
I had to be given a replacement hire car for a faulty oil pressure switch, as the car just wouldn't drive!

The engine then failed at 120K miles, just one week before it's MoT
The dealership had the car for two weeks and still had no idea why the engine had failed
The dealership wanted to replace the engine, they even had this pretty much agreed from Ford but it required to be inspected for approval, so that was another week wasted
On the third week the approval was given to replace the engine, so that it could sent to Dagenham for inspection (as they had never seen this kind of failure before)
However, no engines of this type were available, and the only thing they could do was wait for a low mileage (under 10K miles) engine replacement and use that, and I could be waiting weeks or indeed months for it!
Ford agreed with me, that was impractical, so the dealership was ordered to remove ALL the faulty parts and replace them with new one
However, the dealership advised they could NOT guarantee the repair, as they still had no idea why the engine had failed, and it could happen again at any time...
I had the engine rebuilt, passed through it's MoT, and had the dealership take it off my hands for a fixed price (before the repairs were authorised)
Ran to VX and bought a Vectra

Disagree with the Opel and 15 years comment massively. The Vec C was a huge improvement on the Vec B, which was leaps ahead of the Cavalier! Same with the Astras!!!

    Oi!!!

    Don't you bash Cavaliers!!!

Joking aside though, I still reckon in a lot of places, the Cavalier was actually a better car than the Vectra 'B' it became.

As a family, we had countless Cavaliers and they were excellent, but when it was my time to buy a car of that size, I got a Mondeo. Looking at the above though, I'll be having a Vectra again when it's time to change!

Warranty on VX is 'only 3 years / 60K miles' too. That is the norm.

If anyone thinks that the Vec doesn't give them what they want in a car, then buy something else. Easy really. Buy the car that suits your needs (whatever they are)
