Default Newbie to detailing - eager (mad) to try it!

    Hi guys.

When waxing my car last weekend I noticed that the body work wasn't as smooth as I would have expected or liked (Use Turtle Wax).

I currently use Megs NXT shampoo - got loads of that left and I'm intending on buying the following.

    Megs clay
    Megs DC1, DC2 and DC3.

Will this give a good finish to look at and indeed give a good protection once completed?

(Stupid question time now) - Do you clay the windows too?!

Is a sealant also required after DC3?

Should I replace the DC3 with the Megs Gold Class?

My car is in Star Silver.

    Sorry for all the questions!!!!!
    Many thanks in anticipation.
    Grant.

    Hi Grant,

Just a quicky cause I'm trying to get my car waxed ready for tomorrow but here you go...........

Megs NXT shampoo is good although when finished I'd suggest Megs Shampoo Plus £11 for a gallon lasts ages and one of the very best out there.

Absolutely clay your car if it has not been clayed before then be perpared for the shock of your life when you see the grime that is lifted off the paintwork.

As for DC 1, 2 & 3.........sure use DC 1 but after that I'd go with Megs #21 in place of DC 2 then a better quality wax, something like Megs #16, Collinite 476s, 845 or 915.

The above will give a sensational finish.

You clay as follows: - paintwork then glass & lights, then wheels.

No need to use a sealant after wax, the sequence is: - polish (DC 1) then seal (Megs #21) then wax (Megs #16, Col 456s, 845 or 915)........although some people stop after sealing and don't use wax it's your preference.

    Hope that helps.

    Bryan
