    Default New tyres

Just got a pair of Conti NCT5s to replace the worn out fronts.

I got the 215/50 17W size and cost me £220 for both fitted! This was only £10 cheaper than the 225/45s.

I had been quoted around £300 a pair but these two places were both £220:

www.tyre-shopper.co.uk (Think they are part of National Tyres so you can have them fitted at any National Tyre place. This is where I went as theres one at the bottom of the road)
www.event-tyres.co.uk (These are mobile fitters and work around the Manchester and Henley-on-Thames areas. My dads used these guys and been happy with them)

I do hope you mean a pair of Good Year NCT5
£220 for two is about the right price, unless they are XL in which case that's a good deal

    etyres.co.uk
I got my local fitter to price match them for Good Year F1 XL 225/45ZR17 95W, at £180 for two
Slighty less for the standard version

    Yes sorry Goodyear not Continental.

    They weren't XLs, normal 91W.

I thought that was a good price. I phoned 10 places big and small and checked mytyres etc couldn't get any cheaper.

Oh well at least i wasn't ripped off

National Tyres quote £166 on their website!

I've asked them to quote for XL tyres, just to compare
Quite happy to go to them, if they are the cheapest, and to get my TESCO points

I paid £160 for a pair of 225/45/17 Goodyear Eagle F1's at my local tyre place. Fitted and balanced.

    No clubcard points though

National tyres offer to price match anyone locally but get a name and reference. When I used to have my Alfa they matched the price of the exhaust and when it came to paying they wanted double-saying they had only quoted one section. I stood my ground and argued it out for 90mins but beat the batsadrs in the end. If it had been your wife or someone a bit more timid than me.....

m8Internet: I have found that with national tyres the website price is different from the store price. And that different stores have different prices!!

I have used the National tyres place at the bottom of my road quite a few times now and they have sent me a 10% discount card (but this doesn't apply to the website prices).

j13hdb: I am surprised it took you 90 mins to beat them. Based on the photo I wouldn't have argued
