    Default Alloy wheel refurb question

    As above when alloy's are refurbished how is it done & wheels that are kerbed with quite alot of marks are they completley removed? Do they end up like brand new? Cheers for your help in advance

    yep, end up as new, just gotta make sure that paint is correct match

    the most common way is to either sandblast or acid bathe the wheels in order to get all the finish off. they'll then machine off the kerbing from the edge of the rim and then paint and lacquer them.

    doesn't sound bad considering you could end up with a 'new' set off alloys. Even if you were gonna flog an old tatty set spending £100 on refurbing them could secure a sale!!

    mine cost me £45 per wheel and that was with the tyres on the wheels and the wheels on he car, so they had a bit of phaffing around to do before getting the wheels bare.
