    Cool Spider Box....

Right, I'm on the verge of shelling out for one of these little beauties. I know I could get a remap for the same money, but I've got a lot going on at the moment, and can't say for definite that I won't be changing the car in the near future.

    1. OK, who's already got one, and what are your views?

    2. Anybody else interested in getting one, and maybe see about a discount?

I'm interested but I'm still trying to get a re-remap at the mo in preference to a box. If I can't get it done the way I want then I'll be looking at a spider box or a Rapid box, need one that works on rpm. Can't help at the mo though, so just wasting your time reading this I'm afraid. In fact, you might as well stop reading right now and just move on to the next post... If there is one by the time you read this, which, I'm sure there will be.

    Eek

Right, have taken the plunge and bought it! (With £50 off this week only)

Not sure who I spoke to on the phone, but he was really friendly, very helpful ("it'll put a smile on your face," he said, "trust me, i'm a doctor!!") and....

    and.....

the last time they dyno'd an otherwise standard 1.9CDTi 150 with a spider box, it came out at a whopping 204.6 BHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roll on monday when it arrives!!!

You probably spoke to Mike, he is very helpful.
Well I've got one fitted to my 3.0 V6 and it certainly makes a difference. The day I fitted it (back in Nov last year) I took it down for a rolling road day at Regal and it came out at 222bhp and 275 ft ib of torque.
I'm not sure what its like on a 1.9 but I belive the only other guy who has bought one is kypton01. Have a read of this also. We bought ours at the same time and got a discount.

275 ft/lbs of torque seems to be a little on the low side given that the calculated bhp figure is 222.

Is the bhp one a flywheel reading?

Even with the standard German map on my Powerklick box,I would expect at least a 10% increase on standard torque (273 ft/lbs).

    Great results!

But heard some bad things about Regal.

But who cares what it says on a bit of paper,so long as it feels right on the road.

Yeah, not sure about Regal, but ukanalyst got his RR on the same day and he has a standard Euro 4 facelift 3.0 V6 the same as mine and got around 190bhp but only 275 lb.ft. of torque (less than Vx say it should be). So I dont think Regals RR was over reading on the torque figures that day!

hmmmm, not too sure about RR's.They remind me a bit of wheel tracking gear.Go to Kwik-Fit and they'll track you up and say it's spot on,then take it half a mile down the road to another one and it's out again.LOL
