What are the chances of a PC fan falling apart...in my intake...

I got myself a BMC enclosed filter to replace my second filer, which, was a cone I had made a housing for.

While I was ripping things apart, I decided to try making my own electric supercharger type thingy. I got 4 PC case fans and put them back to back in the intake from the BMC filter. Definatly getting more air to the engine when I'm stationary but I don't think it will do any good on the move.

What do you think the chances are of one of them falling apart and making a mess of my turbo

Wouldn't have thought PC fans are really going to give enough of an air flow to make any difference?

prob not too great as mine run 8 hours a day for 6 days a week..and after 5 years the fans are still fine... but you'll have to hope the turbo doesn't suck them down the intake hose..

Got a better plan for you m8, Plumb one of THESE babies into the air intake system and go the whole forced air route

There are videos of these actually proven to work.

I'm not even sure if you are serious or not and I was actually concidering it... still am!

The is air comming out of the other two intakes when the engine is off but as soon as I turn her on, there's vacume. So I'll take them back out as they are just blocking up the hose.

I was actually semi-serious as i know it does work and have seen vids of them in action. How you would get them connected to be speed dependant is a different matter.

Nutron, there's now a Static Thrust kit on the market today and the sole supplier is going to be GZS-R. They're based in Middlewich. Their website is www.gzs-r.co.uk (still under construction).
