    Default First Time Clayer

Bought myself yesterday a Megs Clay kit, Megs 3 stage and a Megs towl (now I can see why people pay £7 for a towl ) By the way the clay kit was £10 cheaper at TMC instead of Halfrauds where I got the 3 stage on their 3 for the price of 2 offer.
Anyways, cars been washed, clayed & washed ready for the next stage tomorrow (the missus says it looks all done ) but was wondering how lubricated is the best way to use the clay.
Slippery like a soap or damp & tacky? Both ways I found effective but also at times found one way better than the other.
Also is it advisable to clay the wheels or not as they are coming off tomorrow & i the Megs stage 3 a suitable wax for wheels? I know there is specific wheel wax but the wheels are off tomorrow & I don't have ay specific wheel wax.

Also a word to anyone who has had that clay bar on their shopping list or sat around since before winter (no names ) I'd say I was hesitant about giving it a go. Sounded a bit too much like hard work as you usually think of clay being sticky & thought you had to work it over the body work. It's not at all, with the lube it's as slippery as a soap. Did take me a couple of hour mind but the cars never been done before & the bonnet & roof already begining to look like a sheet of glass in the setting sun .
Roll on tomorrow, already planing my photo shoot location. Just wish my front spoiler was fitted.

I used plenty of the lube provided mate. Make sure you keep it warm and fold the clay quite often. Inspect the clay for large particles as these could harm your finish. Do your bonnet and roof first then work your way down like washing. You can clay your wheels but make sure its the last thing on the list.
PS I keep the lube in the car with a good towel as its a good last minute detailer (bird poo and the like). Welcome to the clay revolution, you will not be disappointed but you will be sore after the 123!
