Default Roof Box - What type ?

I've got a facelift '06 estate (without roof rails) and have just bought the VX roof bars. However, the roofbox I use on my '98 vectra estate won't fit because the new bars are too wide for the box fittings. Also, the front bars are at a slight angle so that the bars are not level, backbar is - , front bar is \ ( ok it's a slight exaggeration ). Will I have to get the VX box ? Help gladly welcomed

I use a Thule roof box (which is about 7' long) for my fishing rods.
No problems fitting it on the VX bars.

I am thinking about getting a half width one and a bike carrier for the other half of the roof.

Do roof boxes only open on one side or does it depend on the box, the reason I ask is that when you buy a VX cycle carrier you have to select left hand side or right hand side

    Cheers

Can you check that these still have recommended vehicle speeds still printed in them?
I'm sure the manufacturers still stamp them for 60mph
A few weeks ago I saw an Audi lose one at about 100mph on the A9

I can open both sides of my Thule Box - I think most of them can do this.

Thule fitted, speed recommended is 80mph but had to test it-does go a lot faster! Both sides open on certain ones and carries up 50kgs I think!
