It just goes to show the amount of people that turn a blind eye. I can't believe nobody witnessed that.
That must have been soul destroying.
That's why I've never tried to have an official stand at Donny. Ian_C and MTC are there now aren't they?
I was going to take my lad to that, but to be honest I had forgotten all about it.
Yep, must be gutted to come back to that !!!
You say someone must have seen it, but the thing is at events like this the amount of times I have seen cars pulled to pieces to have newly brought parts fitted, it doesn't look so out of place.
Besides, time it right, ie, mid race, everyone’s gona be watching the race and even if it is well belled up, it won’t be heard over the full chat of the race cars !!!
i find it hard to believe that no one saw this happening, just brings a new meaning to the phrase ''turn a blind eye to it'' feel so gutted for the owners of this motor, hope the thieving scumm burn in hell...
I attended the Renault Sport day last year at Donnington and camped overnight in that car park. I was worried by some of the pillocks wandering around the place at 2-00am, drunk and clearly on drugs of some kind. The language and the volume of it whilst a lot of people with kids were camping there was unbelievable. I didn't sleep well and decided to pack away the tent the next morning before going back into the circuit. I was in a Frontera so it didn't attract a lot of attention.
I decided after that meeting never to go back to Donnington. I don't know if it is the circuit or the event that attracted the scum but I will never be going back.
On the other hand I've camped out at track days and events at Silverstone, Snetterton, Anglesey and others and found that everyone there was there for the sport and behaved in a sensible fashion. The Le Mans campsites get a bit roudy but I think that is traditional. I find the late night fireworks in the campsites are always a worry.
The poor owner of the scooby ! How on earth did he feel when he got back to his car after the meeting to find it in that state. Donnington don't seem to have any security in the car parking areas at all. It is a great shame because the circuit itself is great for spectators.
I won't be going back.
Graham.
