HI guys, interested to know if anyone has thought about/gone through the process of reclaiming bank charges. Is it an easy process? What are the risks? How did you get on?
Any info much appreciated.

Hi, I am going through the process now. There's lot of websites out there with template letters to send your bank and I'd recommend having a look here:

In my case, I had the details of the charges I'd received so didnt have to do the Data Protection Act bit. After turning down the first offer received from Barclays I pressed the button last week and served action through the Small Claims Court.
hi
this is sooo easy to do
i have had about 4k back all together
There are quite a few members that have done this m8.
As soon as I see a bank charge on a statement, or a warning letter, I am straight on the phone
I've had most of mine dropped, for various reasons
I did make a total magoo of one business cheque, and it cost £85
i successfully claimed back my charges, only £325 but still better than nothing. Didnt have any problems what so ever.
both myself and my wife claimed back a total of £2500 back in charges over the last 6 months.
this site is awesome:
www.penaltycharges.co.uk
go 4 it!!
does this apply to credit card late fees?
my youngest bro got back £1650.00 from ltsb, and now my nxt to youngest bro is in the process of claiming his back, not claimed any back myself though as can't remember the last time i got a charge, i think thats down to my missus though as she has always been great with the finances.
go for it if you have had them though after all anything back is a bonus
