    Default 1.9(150) vs 2.0t

Hi chaps i was just wondering about the 2.0t engine, if i was to get the petrol version it would probably get this one. but then i thought is it actually much quicker as the figures say its only about a second quicker and about 20 horses more.At any of your meets i didnt know if you had tested a standard 1.9 against the 2.ot and if so what the result was. The cheaper way for me to get that performance is probably with a remap which if im right would make it faster than a standard 2.0t? lastly is the triple 8 remap the best one to get as doing a lot of thinking (can you tell i been doing a lot)! its better than a box
Im only asking this as in the next month or so i`ll have the money for a remap so im seriously considering it and my warranty runs out in november anyway. so i need lots of opinions and views on remaps
    cheers

If you are consdiering remapping a cdti, then you could do the same with a 2.0T , BSR will take you over 200bhp and give you a stonking car, petrol all the way for me, couple of guys have had both, going both ways so I am sure they will give there opinions on both cars ...

i`d like to keep my car as i love it and it wouldn`t be financially viable to get a new one anyway whereas i could afford the remap.

There was a thread recently(ish) on this exact subject - 1.9 v 2.0T. I'll see if I can get the link as it would give you some useful opinions....

If I was going to get a petrol it would be the 3.2 GSi. This hasn't been hit hard in the recent Road Tax increase either (only a tenner). The 2.8T has been hit and is due for another increase next year.

In answer to your question, in standard form the 2.0T is faster than a 1.9 CDTi 150 without question. The CDTi comes into it's own when you fit a box or have it remapped.

I had a head to head with a 2.0T at Santa Pod. It had a BSR remap on it and it only just beat me. I did have a few problems with the car (cracked manifold and faulty injector). I'm not making excuses, much!

You have to remember that BSR don't just offer once tuning stage for the 2.0T. I believe it's possible to get this engine to over 260bhp. Bye Bye CDTi.

The decision is yours though dude. If it was me I'd go for a GSi or 3.2 Elite.

Yep, the Stage 3 will give just under 250bhp. I'm soooo looking forward to getting mine once we come back from Germany!
