Help with connecting a dimming mirror

Just wondering if anybody could connect a drivers dimming mirror in Aberdeen? Thank you.

I know this is posted in the E.Scotland section but with your profile showing Kent, I wondered how often you visit that part of the UK ?

As I think you don't need to be often up there if one job needs to be done. Just asked if somebody could do it over the weekend and that's it.
Would be nice to know those a lot of members in the Kent area who could kindly help me with that ;-)

:-) funny you said that.... @jon1.9cdti is the best man (including @plasma) I know for all jobs already done on my car. These guys are the only ones I can thrust 100%, but it's not so easy now....no response from Jon since 21/04 (have some other unsolved questions with him) and Dean is busy....even he tries to find a time for me and I appreciate that. Also my shift work doesn't fit most of the times. So maybe it was one of the reasons to post in Scotlands area and check if somebody could help me up there on my visit. It's always nice to meet a new members and doesn't matter in which part of UK they live ;-)

If you can find someone to do this then, as far as I'm aware, you simply need to plug a dimming mirror loom into the mirror at one end, and at the other end plug the cable into the REC and then you can program the REC to tell it that a dimming mirror is connected.

If you eventually intend to fit a driver door mirror that dims, you should be aware that these are controlled by the interior dimming mirror but in this case you would need a mirror loom in the roof that is capable of controlling a dimming door mirror too.

If you do not intend to do that, then the most basic of interior dimming mirror looms will do.

Basically the most of the job is already done....interior mirror and loom replaced from 4pin to 6pin to work as a controller for drivers side. Drivers dimming mirror fitted, two additional cables goes from REC to the each side of front footwells (passenger side too for a future mod of dimming mirror). Car loom is missing for two pins fitted to the mirror plug. All it needs to be done just connect cables on each end. Don't have any pins and not sure how it's done...so looking for help on that ;-)

Unfortunately I'm still chock a block with stuff and not even got around to ordering supplies I'm needing myself Still trying to get the work car together so I can get it finally tracked and stop it eating my tyres. Its slowly getting there with thanks to @happypostie last weekend.... but for now peoples 'mods' are going on a back burner until my essential repairs are carried out... Also lost clutch pedal a few times today again, so looks like a box out job again

Totaly agree mate that jobs on your own car goes first.
I'm still on your calendar....just date needs to be confirmed when possible ;-) I'll let you know if anything changes.
