    Default Facelift Twin Audio

    All,

I have been looking at the possibity of retro fitting twin audio to my facelift Sri. I know this was an option in many European countries with the CD series of head units. Mine is a CD70 which is available with twin audio but not in this country!

Even so I thought there could be a chance of retro fitting it with it being available abroad. After removing my CD70 and getting the ident and part number off it, I then cross referenced them with epc. Siemens must make two different CD70's for Gm as mine (LQ Ident) is not used with rear twin audio.

To have twin audio compatability the head unit must have AB Ident which is what I presume is fitted to the European cars with twin audio.

Just thought it was worth posting to let everyone know it's not possible.

    Paul.

You can have one audio source for the front passengers and one audio source for the rear passengers (useful if you have kids) although in my facelift vectra handbook the headphone sockets for the twin audio appear in the Vectra Travel Assist which also does not seem to be available???

Another gimmick that would have limited usefulness, IMO

Techwolf's picture is of the TwinAudio fitted to the Travel Assistant, whilst Sig63's picture is of it fitted to the rear of the central arm rest

I had a thought, why not fit a seperate headunit in the rear connected straight to headphone sockets, Should be fairly easy (assuming that you can find a mounting point)
