Default South Central Detailing Day @ Clean & Shiny

Ok, well here goes the write up for the Vectra C meet @ Clean & Shiny on March31st

Well I arrived at C&S HQ in Reading around 9.00 to the guys washing their cars, they must be eager!

Shortly after I arrived came along Mark & Andrew, then Dave, and Harry, Martin, Chris and Rob were next and finally arrived Mark the Cabby.

After meeting and greeting the guys @ Clean & Shiny we were given a demonstration of the different types of nozzle heads and shampoos, and their affects. GSI3.2 was quick to offer his, sorry Caras car for the demonstration.

Was Really interesting seeing the different results available, the SnowFoam was the winner with us all I think, instantly transformed the car in to a white heap of foam.

After about 10minutes the foam was washed off, we were then given a demonstration on the wheels. AndyC was thankful that caras wheels were new, so also nice and clean.

We then began to wash all the other Vectras and Signums that were there, which in itself took some time.

After we had washed our cars we were shown how to dry them properly, using a Micro Fibre Drying Towel. Remember guys, Love the Car, Stroke the Car!

After drying we moved onto claying the car, I noticed a real difference with my car, and didnít realise how much junk was left on the paint even after it had been washed.

Once we were all finished claying the cars, we went on to polishing them using a PC. It was my first time at using one of these, but it was so simple, defiantly going to get myself one in the near future.

Finally I added a sealant and glaze to my car, to reveal the finished product.
The day I believe taught us all alot about detailing a car, and a lot of shiny cars left at the end of the day.

Just wanted to thank everyone who turned up, and especially wanted to thank Johnny @ Clean & Shiny for hosting the event, they are a top bunch of guys!

Heres the pics, in no particular order:

Sharon's still amazed I went straight to the shed!

"Whenever you buy something, it gets as far as the back room and that's it, it stays there for a week. You've finally learned to put things away when you buy them."

No, I've learned to hide things so that you can't kill me dear.....

I have the only key to our shed....

Thanks for organizing such a great day!!! I spent over £100.00 on bits and I haven't heard the end of it from my Mrs. who has accused me of spending more time and attention on the car than her. I did offer to let her use my Aqua Gleam water to wash her hair lso that it would be nice, soft and shiny too. She was not amused.
