Broken Spring

Hello, I have a broken front spring on my 2.2sri. I am therefore considering using it as an oppurtunity to upgrade the springs and possibly lower the car all round. I do not want to drop it too much, max 40mm. Someone out there must have done it, if so, can you tell me how its effected the ride and the handling and importantly whether you disclosed it to your insurance company? Thanks

lowering seems to be the topic of the month....

There are several spring companies to choose from, Eibach, Pi.... the lowest that's easily done is - 40mm on Pi springs...

The ride is harder than the -30 eibachs and both dramatically increase the handling of the car..you will be fine going - 30 on your standard shocks, but you'll need shorter dampers for the -40's really..thou spikey and Payney have run -40's okay on their SRi suspension..

oh, and insurance.....Definately telll them..
