is this what people refer to as a "PC" ?

Seen some great results with these things, especially from the recent detailing day, what's general practice with one of these? polish on with the PC then remove polish using straight lines with a soft cotton cloth? is that how you remove swirls?

Thats a rotary polisher mate. There supposed to be alot harder to use than a pc.

This is a pc clicky linky. Its a random orbit polisher which transfers a lot less heat to the paint than a rotary polisher, so less chance of burning through the paint.

Basically yes. If you want more info then you'll find it on this site http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/

    Glad you like it Pricey

Also, Pricey is correct that is a rotary in the link and should not be used on your car until you have really practiced and mastered it on a scap panel first.

The PC tends to be bought from Autopia there is a "How to" guide on Detailing World.

Basically you apply the polish by PC, and you may have to apply a coarser polish first followed by a finer one, the rule of thumb is do a test area to refine your method i.e. which products give you the result you're after then apply that combo to the whole car.

When using a PC this is how you do it: -

    1) Spread the polish on speed 1

    2) Then up the speed to 5 and work the polish until it "blooms" goes clear but not dry

    3) Then wipe down and inspect the result, you may have to do another pass

    And that's about it

It;s also a good idea to have some Megs Last Touch handy for removing any residue that can sometimes remain.
