    confused Confused 2.2DTI Problem

Ok.... read my past post....im still none the wiser about what to do...

My 2.2 dti has been experiencing a loss of power, i posted about it over the weekend..

Anyway so this morning (monday) i take it to a Vauxhall "specialist" (main dealer wants 72.50 + vat for diagnostic) and get the codes read.....specialist dealer uses a vauxhall part to read the codes it comes up with a few codes, but of course they are all vague, but it does mention something to do with the turbo....

hes convinced i need a new turbo, asks me to turn the engine over and says.....yeah its definately the turbo.... 30 seconds of looking at it, thought, he shows me some wind coming out of the turbo (lower down) when revving the engine....so he tells me i need a new turbo... doesnt even check the hoses....

then tells me the damage is £420 inc vat....its definately the turbo.

I thought new turbos were circa £600 plus labour...

do u think hes trying to pull a swiftie here??

so i take it to another garage...and he then tells me his code reading stuff "wont talk" to his reader....but then tells me it isnt the turbo its the air control flow thingie......

im lost...anyone suggest what to do???

Is it worth paying the 72.50 plus vat to take it to VX

all i will say is that not all code readers will read a diesel... so if his one won't communicate.....

Take it you VX, at least you know they can access it..

    Smile Sorted

Went to the place that does my MOT's place....left it with them, they called me a few hours later....it was the hoses.... £63 parts £60 labour plus vat....£145....car runs like new..... totally cured, feels really nippy tooo!

MW PERFORMANCE IN SALTNEY CHESTER were going to charge me £425 +vat....total cowboys....AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

He took 2 mins to diagnose it and told me to buy a new turbo, god knows what he was going to do??

anyway.... im happy guys....thanks for all your help!
