    Default Cruise control stalk replacement

Just bought an indicator stalk off ebay for a fiver on the basis that my cruise isn't working and I thought it would be a cheap way to find out if its the switch.

Anoyone got any ideas as to how I take the old one off and put the new one in?

    nope, i was wrong....

just been out to my car and had it apart......take the column shrouds off to get in to it, don't forget the 2 screws hidden behind the arc of the wheel under 2 little covers..

are you sure it's the switch?.. its usually the clutch pedal switch that gives the fault..

Nope but at the cost of only a fiver compared with what vx would charge (£30ish?) I thought it was worth the risk. Agreed its more likely to be the clutch pedal switch but thought I'd try the easiest option first. £5 isnt a lot to loose.

true, but you can prove the switch without fitting a new one, if the stalk doesn't work..

Just drive while holding the clutch pedal up with your foot, then try CC. Its usually the clutch spring so holding it up will do the job of the broke/weak spring.
