Thumbs up Iridium Spark Plugs. Desperate help needed!

I have just taken my 3.2 Signum for it's 4th service where the spark plugs are changed. I had bought some NGK Iridium X1 plugs part number BKR6EIX-11. They would not fit the plugs saying they are wrong -size and plug all together. They have fitted me the normal NGK BKR5EQUPA. The place I bought the Iridium plugs from are adamant that they are correct. Vx are adamant they are not!!!!

They are telling me that the Iridium plugs are longer- you'd need a nanometer to tell. They also tell me that there is very little tolerance as the plug will hit the piston or valve!

I really want these plugs in but the NGK site is pants as are most others.

Whilst here moaning I must congratulate Marehay Garage at Ripley Derbys for excellent service. They spent amany hours on this. Charged me no more for all the messing around- £180, and have offered to fit the plugs when I have found out 100 % that they fit or the correct ones, for free.I believe this is quite a job! A courtesy car only needs 3 days notice, unlike 8 weeks at Reg Vardy and the whole service is very good!!!!!!!!!!!

Please I need a 100% definite answer or I'll have to scrap the idea! Are there any other Iridium plugs with a part number please??

    Thumbs up Halfords

    A-UP,

    1) Nip to Halfords and interigate their specification book which is below their spark plug range, this will confirm if they are correct!
    2) Ask the assistant to check on their computer as they can cross reference the reference number on the box.
    3) Take them back and get a refund then buy the following Denso ones which i have on my car.
    4) Denso reference no: IK20#4530#4/104 or order them of the internet using a drop down menu to match your car up.
    5) The Densos cost me £75.00!

    Hope this helps.

    Regard,

    JCB
