    Default door and dash trim

iam thinking of changing the silver strips on the dash and door cards, for carbon effect.

i know the dash ones are easy to get off, but what about the ones on the door cards?

i've looked into a plastic welding kit just for this reason.. need a heat gun, and airflow guide to pinpoint it, and then some plastic rivets... saw it on www.justoffbase.co.uk

the backs of these welds are about 15mm in diameter, so thats one heck of a soldering iron, and i wonder if a heatgun would damage the doortrim??..id do them on the trim, not off..
