Default Latest minor edition to my car...

With funds being tight at the moment I can't really afford to buy anything for the car, with the Vectra being my daily driver and the interior being standard bar the Irmscher editions (Pedals, Door pins, Gearknob & handbrake) & the full heated leather of course I was getting a little bored with looking at exactly the same things infront of me every day, I decided I was sick of the blanking panels around the stereo and after looking at various posts on here I jotted down the part numbers for the TC/ESP switch, the rear distance parking sensor switch and the Sport switch.

Made a trip to Vauxhall last wednesday, made my order:

    TC/ESP switch - £9.90 + VAT
Rear distance parking sensor switch - £13.40 + VAT
    Sport button - £11.20 + VAT

Came to a grand total of £40.54 INC VAT

Anyway, picked the switches up today,

Went out to car to fit them, ignore the void where the heated seat switch was, there was a problem which burnt the switch out (according to Vauxhall) so they've took it out and are replacing it, not to my expense of course

    TC/ESP switch in

    Sport button in

Parking sensor switch in (think I may fit a rear distance parking sensor kit so this one may well get used

All switches in, lights on, ignition!

Result! they at least light up

    Test for ESP/TC switch

    Negative doesn't work, that's on an '02 plate 3.2 V6 Elite BTW

I'm picking up some door cards tommorow from a member on here, these will be my next little experiment, going to go with a carbon fibre theme with the trims panels and possibly try a little retrimming with the cloth on them, sticking with the budget mods ATM as you can see, so stay tuned

P.S Sorry about all the pics, but it's the law, and who am to not obide by it

Thought the test for TC/ESP switch was whether the TC/ESP icon was lit up on the dash below the speedo/rev counter dials

According to what it said in the manual the switch behaved exactly as it should, illuminating the icon below the dials when switched off and the icon disappearing when TC switch pressed again (TC back on again).

Just a note... If switched off (Icon lit) TC seems to be re-enabled automatically and cannot be switched off at speeds over about 40 mph. This presumably is for safety reasons?

My car is SRI 04 2.0T

Yep, that's correct. The ESP defeat on the Merc Sprinter I had on hire last weekend was the same, ESP went back on at 40. The big 3.2 litre CDi can do some mad burnouts though until you hit 40.

As most TC/ESP/ABS systems are Bosch, they probably use the same computer, so the Vec/Siggy are probably using the same system.

Ooh, by the sounds of that I need to do a re-test then, I thought the "car being attacked by snakes" emblem appeared on the trip computer screen, not the dash

I'll check it again when I get the car out today
