Wink Who says the 3.0 V6 CDTi has to be thirsty?

I bought the Signum with 3300 miles on and it drove like it was very tight, and was OK on the fuel. Now just over 4 weeks later, it has just turned 7400 miles running exclusively on BP Ultimate Diesel, things are different.

I did not rate the BP Ultimate on the 1.9 CDTi as I felt no difference on performance or MPG. But it does make a difference on the 3.0. If it carries on like this, it will use slightly less than the 1.9, but I know in the real world it will always be a bit thirstier than the 1.9.

But just filled up this evening, heres the stats :-

547.2 miles covered on one tank.
12.4 Gallons Used which is (56.42 Litres)

Filled up with 11.65 Gallons (53.01 Litres) of BP Ultimate
The trip shows an average of 42.9mpg

So by dividing the 11.65 Gallons by the mileage covered, the actual calculated mpg for this tank full was 46.96mpg!!!

this also proves the trip on fuel used is pretty accurate!! within 3L.

Here Here Matt. I do around 1500 a week similar style and get between 38 & 43 depending on how quick I want to get home on the return trip and like you think the BPU makes a huge difference.

Too true, nowadays dude. Did it cross your mind that he may of stopped to 'refuel' or take a leak.

I bought a diesel so I didn't have to keep watching the fuel gauge. Also, if I wanted to I could have a play a bit without worrying about fuel consumption.
