Default Flatblade Wiper's are they worth it?

Just looked on the Network Q webiste to find that for £24 you can get a flatbed wiper set. The claim is that they reduce wind resistance by 50%.... yet do they last longer than convenational blades!!!! My thinking is that all your paying for is a smarter looking wiper..... What do you guy's think?

    Harry,

It terms of lastability though, are we talking 1 year... I know its quite hard to say as different driving levels, different roads etc, determine different wear and tear.... i try and stick to champion wipers, although their a bit more expensive they last a good while....

i can't say Stevie, i've only had them on a few months. the actual rubber blade itself doesn't look much different from a normal wiper, it's just that the wiper can apply equally pressure along the entire length of the blade, and this gives streak free wiping

Thanks Harry.... I think I'll wait until I need to change them and go for it. They do look better and without the need for a special adpater I think £24 for a wiper set is not too bad so as long as they last a year.....

I have just bought a set of these and they are sooo much smoother.

in the Automotive Glazing business we Recomend that the wipers are changed yearly, but People who have stupid mileage should change every six months... its now law that the washer bottle has water in it and the wipers work correctly, if either of these aren't or dont its 3points each as its a safety mechanism!

My work drive has flatblades. They are very good and dont lift off the screen even when you are at high speed. (as a traffic copper we do travel at high speed!) The flatblades for my vec are on order!

I got a set a little while ago. I don't think that the performance is that different but at high motorway speeds they are brilliant and don't lift of the screen at all. Overall, I'd recommend them.
