Vehicle : Vectra C 3.2 Gsi Auto (Zavoli LPG with Flashlube)

Trim : Gsi with loads of "Extras"

    Engine : 3.2 Z32SE (LPG)

    Year : 2004

    Mileage : 131,000

Default Woody's Vx/Opel ICE - Home of the Comfort Unit and Accessories from www.PepaS.cz

I am delighted to be the UK / Eire distributor for the Comfort Unit and related Modules. These are a group of products that are designed to enhance and provide additional information on the range of Opel / Vauxhall CANBus factory-fitted head units – CD30, CD30 MP3, CDC40 OPERA, CD50 PHONE, CD70 Navi or DVD90 Navi, Touch & Connect infotainment units or other unoriginal units, and with steering wheel remote controls (Scroller type NOT Button type).

    Applicable vehicles are Vectra-C / Signum / Astra H / Zafira B

These Comfort Unit & Complimentary Video Units were designed and manufactured from the outset by Josef at www.PepaS.cz

This designer / manufacturer has spent many years of code dis-assembly and understanding of the original OEM instruction sets built into these GM headunits and displays. From there he has produced some highly desirable modules, which once fitted, will almost certainly leave you feeling as though they were built to be there from the outset by GM and their Suppliers.

Comfort Unit - Adding a Comfort Unit to your compatable Headunit & Display, (it simply plugs into the OBD Diagnostic port under the ashtray) will allow you to view Additional Diagnostic Information, Monitor DPF (Diesels with DPF), Boost (Turbo Engines Only), and Aircon Pressure (ECC Units only) “See” a Parking Sensor Display of what your Factory Parking Sensors are “seeing”, view digital readings for Speed & Temperature, Add Coming Home Lights and VXR style Dial / Needle Sweep and Startup Dial Lights to the dashboard and also add an OverSpeed Warning Beep. If you have a VXR engine, then even more features for monitoring performance are available.

Video Modules – Adding a Reversing Camera and Video Aux In / Alternate Video to a CID Colour Display - With a Comfort Unit already in place, adding fully menu driven Video is as simple as connecting a VCU-01 module (or a VCU-02 if you do not require a Comfort Unit as well) and then you can make use of video options such as a Reversing Camera, or Multimedia (if you have auxilliary sound already) if your vehicle has a Colour Display Screens (CID). When video is connected via this arrangement, all original screen warnings related to the operation of the vehicle will still function as intended unlike some other products on the market.

I just thought I would wet the appetites of those existing members who have already purchased a Comfort Unit

Here's an example of a recent enthusiasts installation of a Video Unit (VCU-01) to which he has connected a DVB-T Digital Television Receiver, together with a Raspberry Pi to play his Audio and Video Media Files, and obviously he has a reversing camera hooked up too

The Headunit is a DVD90 (he is a Polish lad living and working in Bristol).

    PRICING

    Comfort Unit - £120

    VCU-01 & VCU-02 - £180

    CAM-PS - Camera Power Switch - £25

    RaspberryPi 2 - £120
This is for the RaspberryPi 2 complete, fitted with 12v Regulated Automotive PSU and Case, together with 8gb microSD together with Openelec OS with KODI (formerly XBMC) and media licenses for Audio & Video. (At this time I will not be supplying the Pi 3 which has integrated wifi and bluetooth. This is because these are fitted "onboard", and it is anticipated that users would need to disable these devices and fit external USB alternatives due to the Pi being fitted inside a screened Automotive case).

    1 metre "Y" Fully Wired 16 Pin OBD Cable Splitter - £13
I have managed to find a manufacturer who can supply me with a high quality fully wired (all 16 pins) "Y" Cable OBD Splitter Cables made with 90 degree exits and ribbon cable so they are both extremely flexible, and also neat and tidy when installed.

Fitting one of these would mean that you could leave your Comfort Unit connected while you further connect a diagnostic reader to your car. (I should add that the Y Splitters I have found available until now are NOT fully wired and do not support the idea of adding a Comfort Unit via this method). PLEASE NOTE That when actually PROGRAMMING any of the modules in the car (ie while Re-Mapping / Retrofitting etc), the Comfort Unit MUST BE DISCONNECTED from the vehicle beforehand.

Wiring - For anyone who is "fazed" by the thought of "wiring", I can also supply a set of prewired "plugs with 12" tails" for the Video Module VCU-01/02 , CAM-PS (Camera Power Switch), and Raspberry Pi2 case - £10

RGB Cable Modification with a VCU-01 or VCU-02 Video module - For the more daunting task of modifying the RGB cable, then I can point you in the direction of a friend of mine who is experienced in fine wiring and who will modify your cable for you - £30 using the plugs supplied including postage.

Postage will be at cost for the high value parts (Comfort Unit / VCU-01 / 02 , Raspberry Pi ) from myself include Royal Mail Tracked Next Working Day Delivery for what is currently £7.50, other parts are sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class post.
Payment - Via Paypal - Please Cover Fees

I am also able to offer an AUX In Retrofitting Service for the CD70 & DVD90 Headunits
with a special price for forum members and carried out on my behalf by PepaS.

CD70/DVD90 Aux In Retrofitting - The cost of this (Priced in Euros) including all parts, fitting, and firmware update is 50 Euros + Return via UPS a further 23 Euros

So approx £56 (as at 5/6/2017) all in.

    Other Services

As a further part of the service offered via my arrangements with PepaS, I am showing the costs/charges for Firmware Updates and Security Code Retrieval of the headunit and display modules associated with this range of vehicles.

All charges / costs for this work are shown in EUROS (€).

Please note that no soldering or dismantling of the equipment / modules is carried out during the update/upgrade process.

The cost of Return Transport via UPS will need to be added to the charges shown. This is typically €23 and return delivery to UK usually takes 5 working days.

GID / CID Firmware Updates - 2 to 3 line Display conversions

    3 line.jpg

Astra-H, Zafira-B GID firmware update: firmware version GD55/GD59
    (2-lines BC) -> GD83 (3-lines BC) - €40 + Postage

Astra-H, Zafira-B CID firmware update: firmware version CD55/CD59
    (2-lines BC) -> CD83 (3-lines BC and OPC/VXR startup logo) €40 + Postage

Vectra-C / Signum CID firmware update: firmware version CE55/CE59
    (2-lines BC) -> CE83 (3-lines BC and OPC/VXR startup logo) €40 + Postage

    Astra-H, Zafira-B, Vectra-C / Signum GID/CID Security Code Reading or Resetting €20 + Postage
    CD70Navi, DVD90Navi security code reading or resetting - €40 + Postage

Please be aware that converting a display from 2 to 3 lines should only be undertaken for modules already paired and working in your car. It will also mean that you will lose the "miles remaining and navigate to nearest "Petrol station" option.

The new CID/GID display (GE83, GD83, CE83, CD83) can not be used in older cars (2005/06) in some rare cases. There is problem in measuring the amount of fuel in the tank; the exact cause is unknown. The CID/GID must be firstly correctly configured in the car and then firmware update can be done. This pairing and configuration procedure must be guaranteed to have been carried out before modification otherwise there will be a problem with fuel measurements.

Once modified, if the range is less than 50 km then range is not displayed in the 3-line main window and the option to navigate to the nearest petrol station will "disappear".

For the security code reading of the CID/GID service with a paired set of headunit / display modules, only the smaller and lighter of the 2 units, ie the display, would need to be sent away for the code to be retrieved.

For complete reading and reprogramming of a new code, both items will need to be sent off.

The service will involve you sending the headunit only to the Czech Republic and will take approximately 3 weeks (2 of which will be travel time). No external wiring is provided and so you will need to add this yourself afterwards. Payment should be by Wire Transfer, Paypal, or the comparatively new Transferwise Service. If paying via Paypal the cost will be 4% higher due to the Paypal Fee.

I can however personally recommend the Transferwise Service offered here -
    https://transferwise.com/?utm_source...fhixoCwQPw_wcB

This will allow you to pay online in Euros with a Visa or Mastercard Bank Debit Card with a fee which is a small fraction of the charge typically levied by banks in the UK.

PLEASE NOTE - THIS PRODUCT RANGE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE INSIGNIA

I will be pleased to answer any questions you may have either by PM, or you can email me at - woodpeck54@gmail.com

So what if I have an Aftermarket Non OEM Headunit ?

If you have changed headunits, all is not lost

The Comfort Unit can also be easily controlled using your Left Steering Wheel controls and the menus and options are displayed and selectable exactly the same as if you still had your original GM Headunit.

The same goes for the Video Modules (VCU-01 & VCU-02) and so all of these items can be fitted to vehicles with either the Factory Headunit, or an Aftermarket Model as long as your GID / CID is compatable with the models shown in the PDF's and that you have the "scroller" type of steering wheel controls found on facelift cars.

PM or Email me with any Sales Enquiries or other questions on installation.

    Retrofitting Aux In to a CD70 / DVD90 for pre 2007 models

To have Aux In retrofitted will involve updating the firmware in the headunit using a 2007 Update Disk which costs under £10 from the Vx Main dealer.

Apart from that however, the internal circuitry of the headunit will need some new components added. The component are mainly Resistors and Capacitors although there is also a special Integrated Circuit (IC) chip which will need soldering.

Beware though, even if you do manage to source the components, the soldering of these SMD (Micro Components) will be beyond the ability of many would be DIY'ers due to the size. If your soldering abilities with this type of component fall below that of a "specialist" then my advice would be to pay someone who has the knowledge and skills to do this for you.

Such an individual will already have the update disk in their posession and so your purchase of a disk, if you bought one, will be wasted money and so you might want to consider whether you even need to purchase the disc yourself.

To give you an example of how the CD70 or DVD90 will work once the firmware has been updated, I am posting the following links from the www.PepaS.cz website. The youtube examples will show you how the headunit will perform as far as sound output is concerned when only the firmware has been updated, and then secondly, when both the firmware update has been completed AND the additional components installed/fitted.

Please turn up your volume and "listen" to the difference between the 2 examples to see what I mean

CD70/DVD90 with Firmware Update Only (Non Functional Aux In)

CD70/DVD90 with Firmware Update AND New Internal Components Fitted (Fully Functional Aux In)

For anyone interested in doing the modification themselves, here is a link to the PDF for the Aux In Retrofit carried out by Pepas.

    http://www.pepas.cz/wp-content/uploa...UX-IN_v1.0.pdf

When comparing the components used, you will see that although the list bears some similarities to the modification published by YYSNET, it is actually different, with several items using a different value.

I am advised that the effect of using these components & values is better from the audio quality point of view (higher bandwidth, greater sensitivity).

Default Add Video Aux In and TV / Media with a CID - Add TV to your CD70 setup

Now you can watch TV on your CD70 with CID and Aux In.

Add a VCU-01 and a Raspberry Pi to your CD70 with Aux In, and you too can be playing your media files or watching live and catchup TV with a Raspberry Pi Connected and running KODI (formerly known as XBMC).

I am now connecting my Raspberry Pi2 to my phone (using my phone as a "Hot Spot") and can now watch live or catchup TV using BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, Youtube and other online TV / Movie / Media Internet "apps" as well as my stored media (movies/music videos/mp3's etc).

This little cigarette pack sized media PC is SUPERB.

As a result, I have added the photos of the new case into the main sales thread in post 1.

Another option for video / audio connections is a mirror device, this will allow you to see on your CID and listen to on your car headunit (using Aux In), whatever media your phone is playing.

Obviously, none of this activity involving video media should be selected or viewed whilst your car is being driven. Due to the obvious safety issues, the penalties for viewing media whilst driving are understandably SEVERE.

As always, feel free to PM me with any questions.

    Cheers

    Woody

Default Comfort Unit / Reversing Camera / DPF & Turbo Monitor, Parking Sensor Display & Much More

Thought about adding a whole host of new features to your car ? Think about a Comfort Unit & Also possibly adding Video & Reversing Camera and Even the KODI / XBMC Media Player to your CID for media playback of movies, music videos, mp3's and even live and catchup TV

For New Members, and also for those who have not yet managed to find their way to the "Vectra-C.com Trader Section" , I am offering the following enhancements ....

Comfort Unit is designed to add lots of new features to facelift Vectra-C and Signums. Also to Astra H and Zafira B models with compatable headunits & screens. Even more features are offered to drivers of VXR / OPC Engines.

Video Module VCU-01 (or simply just a VCU-02 with No need for a Comfort Unit), and you can then consider adding a reversing camera andts multimedia player options to cars with a CID Colour Screen.

Your CD70 hasn't got Aux In ? ... No problem, this can be retrofitted to factory spec.

Just "Click" on the following link to "read all about it"

Upgrading your CID to the latest 3 line Animated Display is also offered.

It is all covered in this link

Talking Add a Turbo Boost Readout, a DPF Regen Indicator, and so much more

How would you like to add such features as -

    Turbo Boost Readout.

    EGR Regen State.

VXR Dial Sweep and Dash Lights Illumination (just like a Vxr).

    Digital Speedo

    Digital Temperature Gauge

    Battery Voltage and Charging State

Park Pilot Parking Sensor Display (on screen) of Sensor Positions

Aircon System Pressure (ECC Units Only)

Overspeed Warning Beep (set by user)

Coming Home / Welcome Home Lights

Massive Volume Speed Increase / Decrease via steering wheel scroller controls on headunit.

    And more ?

And with a Vxr Engine MUCH MUCH More

A Comfort Unit is also a potential starting point to adding menu controlled multimedia input to suitable headunits and simply just plugs into your OBD Diagnostics Port under the ashtray.

If you have a facelifted full canbus Vectra-C / Signum these can be menu driven additions (just as if they were factory fitted by Vauxhall Opel) with suitable headunits and displays.

If you haven't already "found" this information, then you can click here - https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showt...m-www-PepaS-cz

Or the link in my signature file, and if all else fails, just send me a PM

An "ideal" New Year "Gift" for your Vectra / Signum and will give you new "menu driven" options and yet save you significantly on the cost of other instrumentation which won't provide any "near" equivalent to this kit

Very Best Wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year ahead in 2017 to to all my friends, and fellow members, and of course my existing Customers

Wink Driving Abroad in 2017 ? Fancy a Digital Speedo showing KM/h ?

Driving Abroad in 2017 ? Fancy a Digital Speedo showing KM/h ? Or, are you in the UK driving a European Vectra-C / Signum and would like a Digital Speedo showing Miles Per Hour rather than trying to cope with a KM/h standard speedo ?

Well you can this Digital Alternative Speedo option with a Comfort Unit installed in a compatible vehicle.

After an existing UK member / user asked whether he could display the digital speedo option showing his vehicle speed in KM/h instead of in Miles/h for when driving in France, I checked out the "options"

Yes, your Comfort Unit will display a digital speedo readout showing kilometres per hour rather than in miles per hour (or MPH rather than your standard European Speedo readout) if the settings for the main display itself are changed.

This could prove to be an extremely useful feature for drivers travelling abroad in UK vehicles, or when in the UK with European LHD vehicles, especially when used with the overspeed warning settings.

For the benefit of existing customers, just follow the settings changes below -

The digital speedometer "units" can be selected in the Standard Display
    Settings Menu
    -Settings / Units / Europe-SI (km/h) or Great Britain
    (Imperial units - mph).

Due to my car being off the road right now, I have been unable to verify this information, however, I have no reason to doubt its authenticity as it came straight from PepaS

But if anyone would care to check, I would much appreciate it - possibly @RichM or @HarrysDad ?

    Thanks

Vehicle : Vectra C 3.2 Gsi Auto (Zavoli LPG with Flashlube)

Trim : Gsi with loads of "Extras"

    Engine : 3.2 Z32SE (LPG)

    Year : 2004

    Mileage : 131,000

Default Promotion - Free 3 Line CID Display Upgrades for Existing (and New) Customers

PROMOTION - Free 3 Line CID Display Upgrades with NEW Animated Startup Screen.

Yes, FREE, if you are an existing or new customer of a PepaS product from me - you just pay the cost of the carriage.

Estimated turnaround time, from you despatching the display, to receiving it back, around 3 weeks.

Get things organised so you are ready for this years shows.

The 3 line display upgrade to a Colour Information Display (CID) will offer a revised choice of animated graphic screens on startup. However, the existing animations are indeed very limited.

So, this offers you 2 additional alternative ROM Updates with some unique animated screens for VXR / OPC options.

I am now offering the three line update, with either the original GM screens, Or one of the 2 new screens shown below, free of charge (you just pay the postage).

This special offer is open to existing and new, customers of mine with PepaS products.

Please PM me for the exact cost details for carriage etc, BUT effectively, for the cost of post only, you can take advantage of this deal shown below, if you are an existing, or new PepaS/Woody Customer.

If you would like the standard Vx 3 line display conversion on a CID display, then this is also available for this promotion for the same price.

So, you have already purchased a Comfort Unit, or a VCU-02 ? Yes you are elligible , If not, just get yourself a Comfort Unit, or a VCU-02 ordered, so as to qualify for this bargain offer.

Here is a breakdown of the savings for someone having an Aux In Retrofit and a CID Display upgrade -

1 - Not an existing Comfort Unit customer

CD70Navi AUX Input retrofit.......................... 50 EUR
CID FW Update (3-lines BC and VXR startup screen).... 40 EUR
Return Postage (by UPS Standard)..................... 23 EUR
    ------------
    Total............................................. .. 113 EUR

    2 - An existing customer

CD70Navi AUX Input retrofit.......................... 50 EUR
CID FW Update (3-lines BC and VXR startup screen).... 0 EUR
Return Postage (by UPS Standard)..................... 23 EUR
    ------------
    Total............................................. ... 73 EUR (approx £61.59 at 20/2/2017)

Think of this as a potential Comfort Unit Cost Saving of €40

Of Course, you do not need to purchase an "aux in retrofit" to "qualify" for this. If you wish to have a 3 line firmware upgrade, with a special startup / shutdown screen then you can simply choose this

3 - Not an existing Comfort Unit customer

CID FW Update (3-lines BC and VXR startup screen).... 40 EUR
Return Postage (by UPS Standard)..................... 23 EUR
    ------------
    Total............................................. .. 63 EUR

    4 - An existing customer
CID FW Update (3-lines BC and VXR startup screen).... 0 EUR
Return Postage (by UPS Standard)..................... 23 EUR
    ------------
    Total............................................. ... 23 EUR (approx £19.00 at 20/2/2017)

Default Comfort Unit - Latest Features & Firmware version 4.3de

    Comfort Unit - New Features.
After some questions from an Astra-H Vxr driver recently, I realise that Vx drivers may not appreciate the availability of several new features offered by the latest 4.3de version of the Comfort Unit Firmware

    Z28NEH Z28NEL Z28NET Engines (including the Vxr)

    Z20LEH Z20LEL Z20LER Engines

If you have a Vectra-C / Signum / Astra-H / Zafira-B with one of the above engines, a full range of live engine data can now be monitored full time on a suitable Vx display. This can be selected from either the headunit buttons, or the steering wheel controls, or, where the original Vx headunit has been replaced with an aftermarket unit, via the steering wheel controls if you can still access the Vx screen from the steering wheel.

Here is a link to download a supplemental PDF file to explain the newer features. A youtube video link to show the ECM in action is viewable in post #1 on this thread.

    http://www.pepas.cz/wp-content/uploa...on_ParList.pdf

For all suitable vehicles, in addition to the above, the latest firmware offers a light dependant coming home lighting for those cars equipped with autolights and when the daylight (night time) condition is such that headlamps were active just prior to switching off the ignition.

Another new feature is the option to select the front foglights for use as DRL's when the main/sidelights are switched off.

A "free" firmware upgrade is available to ALL customers who have purchased their units through me. All you are required to pay is the cost of the return carriage. "Second Hand" units can be updated for a small charge.

All new CU's are being shipped with the latest 4.3de version of the firmware.

For FULL details on the amazing features offered by adding this superb little module to your car, see post #1 in this thread.

Any questions ? Well you know how to get hold of me
